Sr Operations Analyst

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Senior Operations Analyst who can work with little supervision, provides support for division cost analysis activities.

Impact this role will have:

  • Provides cost analysis and reporting to management for assigned manufacturing site/s which likely includes: providing detailed variance analysis (including overhead absorption, material purchase price and scrap), performing product cost analysis, setting production cost standards, updating quarterly forecasts, and updating and maintaining standard cost files and inventory/manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Works with Manufacturing and Finance to develop annual expense budgets and forecasts for assigned cost centers.
  • Participating in the monthly closing process and providing analytical insight into operational performance and analytical insight into budget variances; in particular, provides cost analysis support to the manufacturing departments of the division. 
  • Based on reporting and analysis, makes recommendations to finance management to save costs, scale for the future and maintain data accuracy.  This may include recommendations relating to purchase price, scrap, inventory cycle counts, work order volume, etc.
  • Participate on special projects as assigned by finance management.
  • Executes annual goals as assigned based on manufacturing site operating plans and finance department needs.
  • Provides month end reporting to finance department leadership.
  • Executes reporting based on pre-established schedules for quarterly corporate reporting, external audits and internal audits.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.  Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Exercises judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status within area of responsibility.
  • This role assures that quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements, and remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise.

    Your experience(s), education and knowledge:

    • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
    • Requires 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, progressively responsible experience in cost analysis/reporting in manufacturing organization.
    • Basic knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and manufacturing issues.
    • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
    • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
    • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
    • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
    • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
    • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
    • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
    • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment working with automated manufacturing systems, such as MRP/MRP II/SAP and automated general ledger systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable Company operating procedures, processes, policies, and tasks.
    • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
    • Advanced personal computer skills including spreadsheet, and other relevant applications; demonstrated skills in working with cost accounting software packages.

      Your preferred qualifications and education:

      • Experience in a high tech product-manufacturing environment.  Strong experience with SAP ERP system software and Excel spreadsheets preferred
