**Job Description:**







**Position Overview/Summary:**







This position is part of the Power and Gas Energy Solutions team focusing on LNG projects.







The LNG Layout Engineer will be required to work in the project development and the execution phases of a project. During the development stage the LNG Layout engineer will be requested to develop preliminary layouts, perform due diligence, support proposals to support the order capture teams during studies, pre-FEED and FEED. During execution the LNG Layout Engineer will support the project team with FEED and EPC project deliverables.







The Layout Engineer must be able to create layouts from past experience for full scale, midscale and offshore facilities. Design detail will include Liquefaction, PreTreatment, ISBL/OSBL systems. When applicable complete modules or modular systems will be developed.







+ Develop facility plot plans, modular structural and piping systems and single system components to ensure the safety, economic and design criteria are met.



+ Providing the technical expertise to achieve accuracy in 2D drawings and the 3D models utilizing conceptual information during project development and with project piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) during engineering stages.



+ Providing technical support and interpretation of code and standards for all discipline design and drafting activities.



+ Supporting basic design, detailed engineering and procurement related activities.



+ Reviewing piping specifications and guidelines for layout considerations.



+ Reviewing and approving equipment arrangement drawings.



+ Reviewing pipe supports and miscellaneous details



+ Reviewing 3D models of Piping systems.



+ Review/approve technical submissions.



+ Checking isometric drawings.



+ Review quantities, MTOs, Cost estimates provided by Contractor



+ Develops and supervises studies to support the selection among design alternatives, includes safety, construction economics and financial criteria.



+ Maintains a working knowledge of all relevant codes, standards, and regulations that pertain to process engineering.



+ Prepares technical reports related to specific design issues.



+ Reviews and approves engineering deliverables from the Engineering Contractor.



+ Works with the stakeholders during specification, tender, selection, purchase, installation & commissioning of process equipment.



+ Provides support during HAZID, HAZOP, QRA studies.



+ Proactively works on best practices, engineering guidelines and internal procedures.



+ Performs improvement studies, optimization, incident investigations, economic evaluations, technical audits and safety studies.



+ Provides support during construction to ensure site technical queries, non-conformances, concession requests are properly resolved.



+ Evaluates requests for deviations or exemptions to the established specifications and standards.



+ Provides leadership in addressing design issues with considerations of safety, cost, constructability, schedule, and quality.



+ Perform preliminary equipment evaluations and definition of the extended scope equipment and products with internal business units and external suppliers.



+ Review and evaluate Vendor quotations including preparation of vendor bid clarifications and technical bid analysis. Vendors quotation documents may include technical scope of supply, equipment datasheets and specifications, calculations, fabrication schedules, and inspection/test plans, etc.



+ Supports thorough technical risk assessment process analyzing all risks associated with technology, safety, vendors, local economic conditions, local labor conditions, schedule, and general construction risks.







**Required Experience and Skills**







+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience



+ 15+ years of engineering work experience within an EPC company in the Oil & Gas industry.



+ Experience of facility design and layout for LNG, Oil and Gas and/or PetroChemical projects preferred.



+ Experience in advanced PC, 2D CAD, and 3D CAD tools, and other applicable hardware and software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, SP3D, PDMS, Navisworks.



+ Experience in the sales and execution phase of EPC projects



+ Customer focused, dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.



+ Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.



+ Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.



+ Attention to detail.



+ Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.

+ Working knowledge and application of Industry Standards and Regulations such as API, NFPA, ASME, BS / EN, FERC, etc.



+ Proficiency in the application of computerized systems, including standard business applications (i.e. MS Office).



+ Flexibility and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
