**Job Description:**



















Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, this position is a first line supervisory position. Manages service Project Managers and Field Technicians. Manages multiple service projects and contracts with a total revenue less than five million (<5M).







Responsibilities:



Supervises the activities and performance of all service project management and service Project Managers.



Provides technical support, expertise, leadership and accountability for service projects, service agreements, and/or T and M work in assigned geographic area or location.



Plans, organizes, directs and controls all service work and service project activities for assigned projects and/or service accounts. Supervises employees to ensure schedules are maintained and service work proceeds according to plans, resulting from service agreement proposals, service project proposal and cost estimates. Also ensures T and M work is completed in an effective and profitable fashion. Supervises account engineering activities including service project work, material ordering, shipping, service agreement labor plans, customer satisfaction and service accounts receivable.



Plans and justifies manpower, staffing requirements, tools, and other appropriate investments for effective and timely execution of assigned service work. Utilizes the Service agreement low GM improvement process, service tools, and assists in monthly forecasting.



Ensures proper job management and cost control by reviewing service financial statements with engineers. Maintains and improves booked margins for service agreements.



Directs and supervises the development of service agreement plans and the use of those plans in the monitoring and control of progress in the execution of the work. Reviews customer feedback and ensures service agreement retention and account growth goals are achieved including adds, extras, upgrades, escalations, and timely renewals.



Develops manpower schedules and loading to ensure contract completion and labor leveling. Maintains timely communications and harmonious relationships between solutions, service, and sales so that project completion and turnover to service can be coordinated to customer disruptions, to maximize our profitability and to insure a smooth transition to a service agreement.



Builds and maintains an effective service operations organization committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth. Manages or advises on hiring, training and development, allocation and performance assessment of personnel within area of responsibility. Provides the tools, training and environment required to achieve employee success.







Required Skills/Knowledge, Education, and Experience



BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.



2+years experience in Engineering or Project Management



2+years of supervisory experience



Employees Supervised: 8 to 17

Siemens Building Technologies is currently searching for a Service Operations Manager. The Service Operations Manager is a first-line management position in Service Operations which directs the activities of at specific customer sites, with a total revenue responsibility of between five to ten million (5-10M). This position manages staff (up to 17 direct reports) including Service Supervisors, Service Account Engineers, Service Specialists and/or Mechanics. This position may be assigned to a dedicated account and may be located on the account site/campus and perform Project Manager or high level account management duties, and does not own a home branch (SBT focus) but may have 1-2 business unit focus.







**Additional responsibilities include:**











+ Plan, organize, direct and control all service operations activities to assure profitable growth. Advise management on local operations planning including resource hiring, development and allocation, financial forecasting, monitoring and issue resolution planning.



+ Manage revenue and gross margin to achieve monthly and annual business plans. Monitor project status and control job costs to maintain margins.



+ Direct and supervise the development of service work to insure customer commitments are met within the estimated dollars. Oversee supervision of all service and retrofit work and personnel on assigned jobs. Ensure schedules are maintained and work proceeds in accordance with agreement requirements and customer expectations. Determine resource needs (e.g. staffing, tools) and provide any corresponding documentation.



+ Provide technical and operational support for the sales teams including proper pricing and scope of work definition for service agreement and service project opportunities. Communicate regularly with customers through all phases of the service work we perform for them. Build and maintain an effective operations organization committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth.



+ Manage or advise on hiring, training and development, allocation and performance assessment of personnel within area of responsibility. Assist branch with training and development of operations personnel including training on use of financial reports.



+ Ensure the proper implementation of all company policies, procedures and productivity tools where applicable. Maintain current knowledge of regulatory laws, changes and requirements and ensure compliance. Advise and implement industry/field best practices to improve products, applications and services.



+ Represents Siemens in industry associations, professional organizations and affiliations and develops relationships with customer, contractors and community leaders











**Qualifications include:**











+ Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred, or an Associates Degree in Business Administration, however, a combination of equivalent work experience and education (a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency is a minimum requirement) will also be considered.



+ 5 years experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage electronic systems including at least two years of supervisory or management experience.



+ Strong understanding of financial reports and ability to implement cost controls.



+ Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively.



+ Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.



+ Must obtain state or local fire alarm license as required by local or state regulations within six months of assuming position.



+ Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.



+ Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.
