**Job Description:**







**Position Overview**







As a Senior Software Architect at Siemens Building Technologies, you will participate within interdisciplinary teams to drive and guide the specification and implementation of a software architecture for a high business impact project (e.g. product line, integration project, or high-risk SW project) for the commercial HVAC market. You will be responsible for ensuring the sustainability and integrity of the architecture vision and all of its domain and technical aspects over the products entire lifetime.







**Responsibilities**







+ Responsible for determining technology roadmaps for SW products and platforms; scanning for innovations and relevant technologies and assessing their feasibility



+ Derive and validate SW platform requirements, define external SW interfaces, and prove SW platform feasibility



+ Solicit, gather, and evaluate quality attributes (i.e. non-functional requirements) for SW systems and platforms; focus on Security and Testability of SW systems and platforms



+ Continuously manage architecture and design by elaborating and documenting SW platform architecture and design rationale including the identification and specification of SW interfaces



+ Mentor SW architects, review SW architectures



+ Collaborate with the development team to coach SW system and platform development and deployment, review SW system and platform designs



+ Collaborate with testers to establish SW platform integration concept and sequence, control SW platform integration, drive Testability requirements and overall architectural quality



+ Collaborate in international, multi-site development teams in Lean/Agile environment



+ Comply with documented Siemens development processes



+ Drive the architecture process and define and enforce development guidelines



+ Passionate and self-motivated to learn and keen to constantly improve and develop skills to stay current with technology







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Bachelor degree in related discipline or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Typically 8+ years experience.



+ Siemens Senior Software Architect (SSWA) certification of equivalent combination of education and experience



+ Expert knowledge in at least two major programming languages and computing platforms (e.g. C#/.NET, C++, Java/J2EE).



+ Advanced to expert experience in SW Product Line Engineering, Domain and Feature Modeling, and Commonality/Variability Analysis



+ Advanced domain knowledge in Building Automation Systems



+ Advanced understanding of Business modeling



+ Expert experience with SW and Systems design methods, e.g. OOA/OOD/UML/SysML, Design Patterns, refactoring/rewriting/reengineering



+ Expert knowledge of SW test design, selection, and automation methods



+ Advanced experience with estimation and prioritization methods



+ Minimum 3-5 years successful history as full stack cloud architect on mid to large size project utilizing Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure
