**Job Description:**

The **Predictive Analytics** group within Business Analytics and Monitoring (BAM) Technology Field of Siemens Corporate Technology (CT) is seeking a Research Scientist for our Princeton, NJ location with focus on industrial applications of **Artificial Intelligence** .

As a Research Scientist, you will be part of a relatively new team that is excited to tackle challenges that arise with the vast amount of data and opportunities focusing on the latest technology innovations in data analytics. Your contributions will assist in finding real solutions to support Siemens broad range of businesses in commercial, scientific and industrial applications that affect our world today.

**What are my responsibilities as a Research Scientist?**

Through short and long term research projects, you will translate technology solutions in sensor data analysis, text mining, machine learning, time series analysis, semantic reasoning and linear/non-linear optimization and perform quick prototyping and feasibility studies. We also encourage generating publications in top journals and conferences.

**What skills are needed to qualify?**

+ PhD from a reputed organization in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics or Applied Mathematics is required.

+ 7+ years of data analytics experience in a R&D environment preferably for mechanical systems

+ Proven knowledge of Artificial Intelligence with focus on Deep Learning/Machine Learning

+ Proven Java or C++ development skills

+ Experience in processing and analyzing large data sets

+ Demonstrable research and innovation track record as an intern or graduate assistant (publications, research monographs etc.)

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills in English a must

+ Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law. US Export Control laws and applicable regulations govern the distribution of strategically important technology, services and information to foreign nationals and foreign countries. **Additional Preferred skills/experience:**

+ Knowledge of Modeling complex systems using Physics-based and data driven approaches

+ Knowledge of Optimization & Control Theory

+ Experience in simulation techniques

+ Familiarity with Big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark etc.)

+ Familiarity of Rule Engines

+ Knowledge of Cellular Automata
