**Job Description:**







**Position Overview:**







Are you the right person to head Projects with a cross-functional focus? You will lead various sizes of teams comprising for example, Engineers, Scientists, Quality, and Regulatory, and Supply Chain.







+ The main directive is that you are a Leader capable of identifying what needs to be achieved for success, how to plan for it, and how to motivate a team to make the achievement.



+ You will plan, track, coordinate, and monitor in vitro diagnostic product development and improvements under Design Control with a focus on accelerating the time to market while maintaining requirements.



+ You facilitate communications between multi-functional team members and senior management to ensure timelines and goals are met.







You are expected to have extensive experience in the Applications sciences for Molecular Biology to lead projects of varying focus in reagents, systems, and software effectively.







You report into the Head of PLM Specialized business unit.







**Responsibilities**







Participate in functional initiatives as dictated by business needs







Lead and motivate cross-functional, usually multi-site teams for one or multiple projects (assay/system/software) representing all Product Development life-cycle phases including project planning, scheduling, tracking, coordinating and monitoring activities and phase gates. Teams may include project team members from other companies where contractual and personnel management must be effectively applied to ensure project success.







Create and manage project scope, schedules and budget of complex development projects







to assure that all product and project deliverables (quality, performance, cost, schedule and revenue) are met







Identify needed decisions and drive the decision making process







Schedule andlead regular meetings to coordinate inter-departmental project activities with a focus on meetings being productive; including those necessary to resolve project issues.







Manage projects with an emphasis on Visual Management such as Obeya methodology.







Facilitate the exchange of information between departments on a day-to-day basis and maintain liaison with all members of the project team between project team meetings.







Commitment to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers.







Produce and present clear, concise and professionally written communications and presentations.







Support program/project status reporting.







Interface with Senior Functional Managers and Business Unit leadership as needed for resource management and provides inputs for project key individuals performance evaluation and development/training plans







Manage project communications to all stakeholders (project teams, functional managers, internal and external customers, and senior management), including meeting minutes, monthly updates, communications meetings, and phase reviews







Identify and implement process improvements to streamline time to market







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







The ideal candidate must demonstrate outstanding work ethic, be capable of understanding and articulating scientific, interpersonal, regulatory, and business issues, thus leading and motivating by example, teaching and coaching.







+ BA/BS in biological or life sciences or Engineering with 8-10 years experience in the biotechnology/mecical device industry.



+ At least 4 years of experience managing projects of varying complexity.



+ Experience managing at least one moderately complex project with another Company



+ Strong analytical skills to assess situations and drive decision making



+ Experience coordinating a project across disciplines and integrating all aspects of business as they impact complex development projects including negotiation of scope, roles and responsibilities, specifications, timelines, and resources up, across, and down the organization



+ Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of ISO 13485, QSR and Design Control requirements



+ Demonstrated effective written and oral communications skills



+ Experience working independently in a fast paced, changing environment with deadline and resource constraints



+ Capacity to achieve outcomes based on ability to facilitate and negotiate desired results



+ Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook and ability to learn new software quickly



+ Impeccable organization skills, attention to details and punctuality are essential qualifications for this position.



+ Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.







**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile Certifications



+ Advanced scientific, technology and/or business degrees are highly desirable and can substitute for some required experience



+ Experience with Obeya and Kanban visual management
