Are you an accomplished A/E/C Project Manager experienced in the successful delivery of engineering and construction projects in the California healthcare sector?  If so, please consider applying for a Project Manager position at Degenkolb Engineers – a longstanding provider of exceptional structural engineering services.


Job Responsibilities:

Work with the Principal in Charge to lead and successfully complete each project. Guide design decisions to adhere to the approved scope, budget, regulations, and jurisdictional requirements. Facilitate communication and coordination between team members and manage the submission process to jurisdictional authorities and the client. Manage project meetings including developing agendas and maintaining minutes.  Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets from planning through project closeout. Communicate with the Principal in Charge on issues affecting project quality, budget, scope, timeline or delivery. Review and approve all subconsultant contracts and invoices, and monitor and report on all change proposals including impacts on project schedules and budgets.  Arrange for all jurisdictional authorities' inspections.  Develop client relationships and participate in the pursuit of renovation/seismic upgrade projects.

  1. BS degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. A minimum of seven years engineering, architecture, or construction management experience and sufficient professional experience at Project Manager level to assure both leadership and management competence at this level.
  3. A minimum of three years of project management and/or construction administration experience with Healthcare renovation and/or retrofit projects under OSHPD jurisdiction.


  1. A minimum of three years’ experience managing technical staff.
  2. A minimum of three years’ experience in Project Management.
  3. A stable work experience record.
  4. Relevant professional licensure or construction-related certification/qualification.
  5. Outstanding prioritization, communication and interpersonal skills.
