**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

Siemens Industry Digital Factory Aerospace Vertical has a Program Manager position specializing in Factory Automation and General Motion Control programs. This Program Manager position will be responsible for leading the development of the Aerospace Vertical focused and specific program management capabilities. The program management capabilities will be applied to End-User modernization opportunities to ensure the overall success of the programs from both the customer and Siemens perspective.

+ Define, develop, implement repeatable processes:

+ To help end-users develop specifications / standards and drive these to the OEM / System Integrators (SI) / Machine Builders.

+ To ensure that both the end-user and the OEM / SI / Machine Builders can successfully implement a modernization, conversion, or standardization program.

+ To ensure clear roles and responsibilities with the customer while also assessing soft skills required for each role.

+ For performance monitoring including time period regularity, tracking activity hours on a program, tracking issue resolution

+ To standardize a communication plan for both internal and external; establish meeting cadence, media for reports (i.e. emails, sharepoint, etc.), tools to use, and escalation process

+ To capture lessons learned, best practices and adapt into future programs

+ Develop and implement a skills assessment process for the support team (customer and Siemens) as well as a training response plan. Understand the program requirements and our commitment to the customer; Assess the teams capabilities against the requirements; look beyond the immediate resources to ensure long term sustainability

+ Standardize a process to define on-site and off-site requirements including work location, safety training, drug testing, network access, remote access, etc.

+ Ensure a standard and emergency support process is defined, repeatable, and can be communicated for each program including escalation process/path, resource work schedules (including vacations) and contact information

+ Develop a post-program support plan including field service resources, upgrades, break / fix support, etc. with the goal to develop long term revenue.

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in managing programs.

+ Skills Required

+ Basic program management skills (budget control, scheduling, etc.)

+ Experience in the deployment of automation projects

+ Good communication skills; both written and oral

+ Commercial sense

+ Project/program management experience and experience leading others

+ Mentoring skills

+ Basic understanding of the automation technology

+ Ability to drive and maintain process discipline within the team

+ Process improvement driven

+ Bachelor degree: computer science, engineering, business, marketing or sales (or equivalent relevant work experience)

+ Typically 5-10 years of experience in project and/or program management focused on industrial automation segments

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

+ Technical degree in engineering or computer science

+ Certification in Project Management from Project Management Institute (PMI), International Project Management Association (IPMA) or equivalent international body
