**Job Description:**







Overview:







Siemens is growing their Grand Prairie, Texas location to keep up with business needs of todays fast growing economy. They are looking for a Product Development Engineer Pro-E to join their team and to assist in the growth. This candidate will lead Innovation and new product development for electrical equipment (Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards). This person will report to the Engineering Manager and will have no direct reports.







Ideal candidate will have:







- Strong Electro-Mechanical Product Development Engineering skills.







- The ability to create multiple design concepts & perform trade-off studies of those concepts to determine the optimal solution.







- Hands-on prototyping experience.







- The ability to plan projects regarding scope of work, task durations, costs and completion dates.







Responsibilities:







- Engineer innovative design concepts for new products utilizing Pro/E CREO.







- Develop systems and sub-systems with multiple interface points.







- Plan projects including scope of work, task durations, costs and completion dates.







- Contribute to "Design-to-Cost projects to reduce manufacturing and material costs.







- Design and prototype Switchgear and Switchboard samples, and process through SAP.







- Initiate and validate Engineering Change Notices as they relate to product development, improvements and/or cost reductions.







- Create Material Masters, Material BOMs, Document Information Records and Change numbers using SAP.







- Provide expert technical Product and Application support to Manufacturing and Customers.







- Be able to represent company interests effectively and develop Standards in Industry-wide regulatory bodies.







Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:







1. BSME or BSEE







2. 2 - 5 years experience in new Product Development Engineering







3. Minimum of 2 years of Pro-E / Creo







4. A proven track record of developing design concepts with a comprehensive evaluation of all interfaces and contributing factors







5. Strong working knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), product design and concept testing







Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:







1. Switchgear design experience







2. Power Systems Engineering background preferred







3. MSME or MSEE







4. Configurable / Modular design methodology







5. Minimum of 2 years of Project Mgt experience







6. Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
