**Job Description:**

Procurement Specialist


The Procurement Specialist develops very complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedites as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and users. They also resolve very complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices. The Procurement Specialist develops project plans and purchasing systems; reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases. They also negotiate prices, terms and quality requirements; develops requests for quotes and develops new supply sources; evaluates market conditions. They guide value analysis to identify cost improvements, develops cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria. Independently performs advanced areas of work for the professional field. They apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. The Procurement Specialist displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross functional problems.


You will oversee full responsibility and management of all Purchase Orders issued which includes the procurement of quotations from the supply base, timely issuance of a correct Purchase Order with details confirming the scope and timeline of the order

You will proactively manage all orders to ensure on-time delivery and timely communication and provide escalation with internal and external customers in the event there is a slip in the date or change in scope

You will manage and drive to resolution any technical clarifications on behalf of the supplier, if needed

You will manage and drive to resolution any invoicing issues and support the supplier, if needed.

You will monitor all open orders with suppliers to address any concerns or slippages

You will provide full analysis of quotations received and negotiate with supply base to ensure best cost and quote from multiple sources which should be obtained whenever possible.

You will have the ability to work independently in an highly organized, accurate, disciplined manner

You will demonstrate good ownership culture mindset

You will monitor supply base and engage with and understand current issues / challenges

You will possess full knowledge and effective usage of all tools available: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Circuit (previously live meeting), ASD and Click4S databases, our internal Siemens software, SAP, EZSuite for Invoicing and supplier approval, knowledge of Siemens processes as they pertain to procurement

You will possess outstanding communication skills verbal and written with the ability to adjust appropriately between supplier / customer / executive management (high level view vs. detailed)


Bachelors Degree required

8 10 years of direct experience with procurement and supply chain management

Expert knowledge of SAP

Keen negotiating skills

Superb communication skills both written and verbal

Experience with global customer base required

Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.


Masters Degree preferred

Experience with Fiori, Tableau, and GTRN systems

Knowledge of Hot Gas Path parts

Knowledge of Gas Turbine parts
