**Presales Business Development Consultant I**























**Position Overview**























**Support and execute consultative sales engagements and generate sales opportunities with high-level contacts often through face-to-face and client site visits. Maintain an ongoing business relationship with strategic, existing clients to facilitate future sales. Develop financially quantified value propositions specific to a client or prospect. Represent thought leadership of customer business needs and processes, and how our solutions improve customers business operationally and financially.**























**Responsibilities**























+ **Support consultative Solution Value determination engagements using available methods & tools to assess a prospects business condition, and recommend appropriate courses of action.**



+ **Aide in the development of a customer vision that resolves identified business pain and leverages PLM technology as a solution enabler.**



+ **Support sales campaigns to drive new business and create new sales opportunities, by leveraging previous wins, reference databases and best practices and re-using unique differentiators.**



+ **Provide insight into negotiations of issues between company and client and develop compromise.**



+ **Promote Thought Leadership - the ability to speak with authority and be a trusted advisor on our customer s business issues, and how PLM can improve their business.**



+ **In partnership with the sales orchestrators and engagement teams, look for areas to develop new business opportunities based on customer value.**



+ **Develop financially quantified value propositions specific to a client or prospect.**



+ **Represent client, industry and sales needs to product development.** **Primary Job Qualifications:**

+ **Gain knowledge in customers industries, their competitive environment, current business challenges, and opportunities for improvement, usually in 1-2 industries or solution domains.**



+ **Using knowledge of PLM technology and best practice processes, exercises discretion when identifying, proposing, and validating specific solutions based on customer-defined requirements.**



+ **Work towards being an expert in how our solutions can be implemented to improve customer business operations and financial results.**



+ **Support sales strategies for industries/markets, and specific sales pursuits**

+ **Defines, Builds & Delivers Activities regarding Product and/or (Sub-)Domain Value Propositions**



+ **Enablement (activities to train and develop PLM, and indirect channel PreSales and Sales People):**



+ **Contributes to Activity-Planning**



+ **Defines, Builds & Delivers Activities regarding specific Product and/or (Sub-)Domain Value Propositions**



+ **Business Development:**



+ **Evaluates Business Potential of new Markets and/or Solutions. Defines and builds Solutions to address new markets. Supports go-to-market activities. Project Owner for small BD Projects.**



+ **Defines, builds upon, and improves the Value Delivery Assessment Methodology for new markets. Builds Value Propositions and supporting PLM Solution Vision proof points new markets and solution areas. Support small TCV opportunities. Contribute LVA and Solution Link Methods and Standards**



+ **Sales Pursuits (activities to support customer engagements based on LVA (presales), SVS (sales) and Advantage (services) processes. Service Examples: Support definition of Sales Strategy, Value Proposition, Solution Outline, Presentations, Demos, Benchmarks, POCs and support SOW activities:**



+ **Support definition of Sales Strategy, Value Proposition, Solution Outline, Presentations, Demos, Benchmarks, POCs and support SOW activities**



+ **Support Build & Deliver (Sub-)Domain Proof and Value Argumentation (LVA)**



+ **Support sales pursuit milestones (Engagement Leader for smaller Engagements / SW < 100k)**



+ **Support Solution qualification**



+ **Support value proposition development and quantification**



+ **Support (activities include assuring successful hand-off and transition to services team and Deliver phase. Maintain customer relationships to assure successful implementation. Identify potential add-on business.)**



+ **Review Value Improvements and build recommendations for future PLM Improvements**



+ **Improve Relationships with strategic Customers**



+ **Make recommendations to Internal (activities to improve PreSales processes & tools, and communicate sales needs to other internal organizations such as Products and Marketing.)**



+ **Supports Planning of Standards and Knowledge Development**



+ **Adjust, build & deliver Standards / Know How regarding (Sub-)Domain Value Argumentation and/or Industry/Process Best Practices**



+ **Contribute to the local knowledge Network**











**Minimum Requirements**











+ **Bachelors: computer science, Engineering, or business**



+ **At least 1-5+ years of experience in using, supporting and interacting with PLM-related software**



+ **Excellent oral and written communication skills**
