P&C Communication Specialist

**Role Value Proposition:**

The P&C Marketer markets MetLifes voluntary insurance products, particularly group property and casualty insurance, to the employees of MetLifes corporate group customers. Depending on market size and geographic region, a marketer could manage anywhere from 100 to 300 group customers including, some of our largest, sensitive group clients. The primary responsibility of the role is to work directly with group customers and brokers to develop and implement employee communications for each employer based on marketing best practices, the customers historical performance and preferences plus, other variables. The marketer will also work closely with key internal partners including, sales and service representatives, sales support and product groups. The marketer will be accountable for reaching specific goals primarily for, direct mail campaigns, which are key to driving new sales and premium growth.

The marketer may also become involved in various other projects and assignments based on current marketing initiatives and goals.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Research and learn about group customers including their culture, employee demographics and communications practices

+ Develop and execute initial and ongoing case-level employee marketing communication strategies (direct mail, digital, etc.) to employer groups using appropriate marketing metrics and results, customer preferences and marketing initiatives.

+ Understand market conditions and geographic pricing challenges and growth areas to develop appropriate segmentation strategies

+ Convey the value of our employee communication and enrollment approach including direct mail as a communication strategy, campaign specifics, and campaign testing to HR contacts and brokers to gain approval on the various communication strategies and recommendations.

+ P&C Marketers are customer facing and seen as a subject matter experts as it relates to their P&C Marketing Program.

+ Monitor and assess overall campaign results and employer-specific results to develop and recommend alternative communication plans to drive optimal results

+ Identification of accounts and presenting the benefits to add additional communications to their plan to maximize employee awareness of the program.

+ Prioritization of accounts who are not currently communicating the P&C program and

+ Quality control of all pre-production and post-production processes to ensure communications are executed without errors and properly incorporate client feedback, logos, etc. in a timely manner to avoid any delay to other clients mail included in the batch

+ Update in a timely and quality manner the campaign management database with all account level marketing activities

+ Knowing and understanding the sales unit financials and performance. Recommending prioritized account approach to ensure growth potential is maximized for the geographic sales unit

+ Manage and leads cross functional sales teams as it relates to P&C customer accounts.

+ Engage in other marketing projects

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**

+ BA / BS Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications is preferred

+ Marketing communications experience (7 years)

+ Account management

+ Strong business writing / marketing writing skills / direct marketing / electronic / other promotional medium

+ Strong communication skills written and oral

+ Must have the ability to sell accounts on the value of communicating the P&C program

+ Knowledge of concepts of advertising, direct response, sales promotion & strategic planning

+ Broad knowledge of employee benefits & financial services

+ Familiarity with MetLifes insurance products and services (both core and voluntary).

+ Must have ability to work with corporate management, directors and officers from various lines of business, sales management / sales organizations

+ Must have good relationship building skills to work effective as a team with sales, sales support, clients, VCSs, VSDs, Operations team, etc.

+ Must be able to effectively multi-task - manage concurrent projects in deadline driven environment

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint (intermediate to advanced)

+ Good presentation skills, negotiating skills and project management skills

+ Highly detailed-oriented/organized

+ Ability to work autonomouslyThis position requires industry knowledge and marketing skills in such areas as direct marketing, targeting and segmentation in multiple media, as well as brand management. Must possess a sense of business acumen and the ability to make business decisions based on ownership principles. Must be prepared to identify and respond to obstacles and or challenges independently.
