**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

As a Military Sales Account Manager you will be responsible for achieving business objectives at key accounts (for example, penetration of account with product/solution/service offerings) for the Siemens family of networking solutions (RUGGEDCOM and SCALANCE) and professional services. He/she will also identify, recruit, and manage internal and external business partners as necessary. The Account Manager may leverage Siemens global reach to influence decisions if relevant.

**_A successful candidate will be self-motivated to take care of his/her own sales objectives for the country, but also be a team player and share in the success of the Siemens organization. They will also have the ability and skill set_** to manage multi-level customer relationships ranging from the technical/engineering level to Program Managers and even to high-ranking military officers.

This is a home-office based position, but extensive travel across the US will be required.


**__** Performs all of the sales activities for US Military customers. This individual should be an intelligent, articulate, and independent thinker.

Guides the development and execution of strategic account plans to ensure achievement of assigned business goals.

Develops / builds / cultivates long-term relationships with key management within the customer organization.

Assists management in devising sales plans and strategies. Will develop forecasts, budgets and operating plans for sales channels.

Form account teams and coordinates team activities while minimizing sales and marketing costs and maximizing sales revenue.

Lead team reviews and updates of account plans based on changing market, customer conditions, and competitive activity.

Ensure all sales and non-sales needs are met with the customer

Develop new customer relationships

Strengthen existing customer relationships

Expand existing relationships to multiple departments within same customer organization

Manage multiple (sometimes competitive) customers

Manage projects from design to procurement to implementation

Perform presentations to large groups, sometimes executives or high-ranking officials

Learn new technologies to satisfy customer requirements

Learn new sales techniques and strategies

Report activities both verbally and via sales reporting and forecasting tools

Travel 50-75%, possibly internationally

Cold Call as necessary

Present product line to prospective customers with focus on the overall solution

Dedicate time and have high energy level for daily job functions

Heavy involvement with the Siemens Industrial Networking Products & Solutions business


Must be a United States Citizen, with eligibility to obtain a security clearance

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Marketing

Experience of 5-10 years in Sales or Sales Support of technical solutions

Experience in the field of Data Communications, Industrial Networking, and/or Cyber Security

Experience working in/ with the US Military fields of Engineering, Procurement, or related functions

Ability to travel 50-75%, both domestic and international

Knowledge of FIPS, CC, RMF, DFAR and other standards/regulations pertaining to the US Federal Government is highly beneficial

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain and present complex technical material and Siemens Products.

Excellent customer relationship skills, with the ability to manage multi-level customer relationships ranging from the technical/engineering level to Program Managers and even to high-ranking military officers

Effective ability to work internally among the Siemens Government Technologies teams, other Siemens companies, and with various types of partners such as system integrators, OEMs, channel partners, VARs, etc. Additionally, this candidate must be able to work with other disciplines within these organizations such as; Application Engineering, Inside Sales, Professional Services, Marketing, etc.

A military security clearance(s) is preferred

Experience with US Naval: Protocols, Vessels, Shipboard Applications, etc. would be beneficial.

An understanding of a multi-level, global organization like Siemens is beneficial

Management of Channel Partners, OEMs, or other types of Partners
