Mechanical Engineer - Internship

Cobham is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Internship to work for a dynamic team in a fast-paced, aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. Cobham’s structured internship program offers real world experience and mentoring through a variety of activities and assignments. This position is located Davenport, IA.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on integrated product development teams to optimize designs and verify mechanical/pneumatic system performance.
  • With supervision, assist with product design and testing to include data collection and analysis.
  • Component and product failure analysis.
  • Assist with assembly of prototypes and test fixtures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior/Senior status towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.          
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US.  In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or study of fluid dynamics and/or mechatronics.
  • Prior related internship or work experience.
  • Hands on experience with aircraft or aircraft systems.
