**Position Overview**

This position reports directly to the Director of Global Materials & Demand Planning within the Ultrasound Business Area

Serves as the technical transportation advisor/expert to the Director of Global Materials & Demand Planning and Global Order Management and Order Fulfillment Teams on all matters directly dealing with the movement/shipment of Ultrasound equipment

Provides excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and timely delivery

Collaborates with internal and external contact points to develop or revise plans, policies, and procedures for logistics support in area of responsibility

Responsible for developing and implementing the international and domestic transportation strategies and managing outbound & in-bound transportation of shipments from vendors to distribution centers and from distribution centers and third party providers to customers

Ensures all of our import/export requirements are met


Responsible for logistics management of Ultrasound products domestic and international

Analyzes and advises on transportation scenarios relative to the domestic and foreign movement of Ultrasound product

Prepares and handles relevant shipping and logistics documentation

Supports in negotiations with carriers and reduces supply chain costs and increases flexibility and competitive advantage in the logistics/transportation area

Responsible for developing traffic strategies to reduce operational cost, shorten lead times, and improve efficiencies (promote continuous improvement)

Supervise global shipping/logistics areas for maximum efficiency

Ensures traffic procedures comply with company policy

Ensures satisfactory carrier service levels and resolves problems with related services

Ensures proper communication with vendors and customers (internal and external)

Develops and implements inbound and outbound logistic strategies from multiple sources to multiple distribution points

Develops and implements logistics planning systems to support the use of electronic connectivity with third party logistics centers and carriers

Proactive communication with operations etc ensuring requirements are input and understood and followed through

Prepares daily reports (i.e., traffic) for customers and the organization

Performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

Experience with Ocean and Air exports and imports, working with Customs Brokers, Trucking Companies, and Freight Forwarders

Understanding of export and import documentation, ocean bills of lading, Letters of Credit,

5 to 10 years experience in inbound and outbound logistics/transportation (air and ocean)

Excellent knowledge of Global traffic scheduling, supply chain management, trade regulations, L/C, and trade finance

Demonstratedknowledgeof logistics problems, applications and distribution systems

Proven results dealing with internal and external customer requirements

Experience managing import/ export functions including all regulatory and compliance aspects

Must have supply chain experience

Customs and compliance experience required

Strong communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills

Detail oriented with solid quantitativeskills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint). Process management and the ability to implement sustainable, end-to-end processes

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

Bachelors degree in logistics, business management, or associated discipline preferred

Experience in corporate environmentpreferred

Customs Brokerexperiencecould be helpful

Experience working for a CTPAT certified organization is preferred

Experience with contracts and selectionofdomestic and international carriers and service providers

Approximately 15% travel
