**Job Description:**







**Position Overview:** **Material Handler**







We are looking for a Material Handler to add to the Siemens All Aboard Florida (Brightline) SC-44 Locomotive Service team in West Palm Beach, FL. The right person will be a skilled and independent worker who is highly organized, have great attention to detail and excellent communication and follow-up skills. This person will fully support the maintenance department in material-related issues including operating material handling equipment, picking work order specific materials, receiving and putting away, updating databases, and cleaning work spaces.







**Specific Responsibilities:**







Work under the guidance of the Group Lead. Work will be inside, outside, in all weather conditions in an industrial area requiring appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs, ascend and descend ladders and mobile stairs. Touch, feel, count, and handle large and small materials.







Conduct issue and receipts of materials to maintenance workers. Manage stocking levels to ensure required materials are on hand when needed. Ensure defective core material is returned in a timely fashion (RMA process). Conduct daily/weekly inventory cycle counts.







Must be available for day and night shifts dependent on operational commitments and material handling support. Other jobs and responsibilities as assigned.







**Qualifications**

**Language Skills**







Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write legibly and complete basic material related forms and correspondence.







Decision-making. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, provide prompt and polite customer service to personnel.







**Mathematical Skills**







With or without the use of a calculator - add, subtract, multiply, and divide large and small quantities of materials in whole numbers and fractions. Able to compute ratios and percentages.







**Education and Experience Preferred**







High School education or equivalent. Two years minimum experience in material handling, warehousing, and inventory management. Experience using material management databases such as Dove Tree, WMS, and JDE preferred. Rail experience a plus.
