**Role Value Proposition:**

This position is responsible for the management of a team responsible for investment analytics (GAAP and Statutory), QFS reporting and projection to actual reporting & analytics. This position interacts directly with senior leaders in the business, answering questions and providing information accurately; and uses sound judgment to make effective decisions.

The position requires a broad understanding of GAAP, Statutory and SEC investment reporting requirements, experience in analyzing, understanding and explaining financial performance in the context of SEC Managements Discussion and Analysis. Position requires ability to deal with period end closing processes and procedures, complex investment transactions, and to understand the invested assets of the many legal entities comprising the enterprise, and an understanding of the underlying systems and reporting tools supporting Investments Finance.

**Key Responsibilities:**

The key responsibilities include oversight of Investment results analytics and Quarterly Financial Supplement. These analytic reports support the Companys ongoing operations, SEC & insurance statutory requirements and registered insurance product filings. The position requires an understanding of GAAP, SEC and Statutory reporting requirements, the interpretation of results of complex consolidation practices and their financial statement presentation, an understanding of the many legal entities comprising the enterprise and period-ending close processes and procedures. The principal accountabilities of the position are as follows:

1. Leading investment analytics (GAAP & Statutory) for $100 billion investment portfolio.

2. Managing and developing the process for analysis of investment yield results and related trend analysis for both GAAP and statutory reporting.

3. Managing preparation and analytics required for Quarterly Financial Supplement.

4. Managing and developing the process for analysis of investment results (NII, NIGL and Unrealized Gain (Loss)) and related ad-hoc reporting and analysis for both GAAP and statutory reporting.

5. Managing and developing the process for investment projections to actual reporting and analysis for both GAAP and statutory reporting.

6. Interact directly with senior leaders in the business, answering questions and providing information accurately; and use sound judgment to make effective decisions.

7. Maintain a sound internal control environment in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) surrounding investment reporting and analytics.

8. Manage department performance, hiring and termination processes and succession planning for the department.

9. Manage and coach a team comprised of degreed, highly skilled technical senior associates and associates.

10. Liaison with third party administrators and review data for accuracy, while also gaining an understanding of underlying drivers of investment results and communicating to senior management.

11. Leverage emerging technologies to automate analysis and reporting functions.

12. Lead process change initiatives within the department and across the business to streamline processes, accelerate processes or improve the quality or internal controls of processes.

13. Interact with various support functions across the business to facilitate the groups ease of doing business.

14. Manage deliverables and projects across the enterprise.

15. Other tasks as needed.

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**

+ 8+ years of experience in the Financial Accounting and Reporting roles, with in-depth knowledge of investment accounting, reporting and analysis.

+ BA/BS Accounting or Finance, CPA/MBA is preferred

+ Very strong analytical skills and ability to provide interpretation and meaning to period to period financial changes and trends

+ Very strong problem solving, communication, organizational and information technology skills

+ Ability to handle multiple complex tasks under very aggressive timelines

+ Ability to effectively lead and manage a competent staff, with diverse backgrounds and experience

+ Ability to effectively influence professionals across the organization, with diverse backgrounds and experience

+ Proactive work style

+ Effective decision making skills, sound judgment and ability to work independently

+ Experience supervising team of professionals
