**Job Description:**







**Position Overview**







Join a team that focuses on customer satisfaction and collaboration to achieve world class service and delivery that supports business growth and stability.







Organizes and controls the Supply Chain / Logistics activities in the area of Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling with the objective of achieving cost benefits, delivery reliability and customer satisfaction through the best possible logistics services (flow of material) as well as optimizing the processes and the use of resources.







Position reports to the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager







**Responsibilities**







+ Coordination and prioritization of the day to day activities for the shipping/receiving/material handling personnel. Determine work procedures, prepares work schedule, and expedites work flow



+ Establish carrier and other 3rd party partnerships in support of customer requirements and service expectations. Act as a liaison between all parties providing direction and resolution in the event off a service failure, cargo claims or other disputes.



+ Create, maintain, and/or analyze customer focused KPI reporting process focused on operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.



+ Confer with other departments to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, purchasing, quality, and order management to ensure timely and accurate reception and shipment of material



+ Ability to introduce improvements and strategies and possess sense of urgency and a proactive customer service philosophy



+ Self-motivated driven well organized and customer focus



+ Ensure department is safe, well organized, efficient, and clean



+ Ability to train and develop employees and track performance against company objectives



+ Supervisory responsibility to include hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and terminations



+ Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Associates degree or equivalent work experience



+ At least 2 years of knowledge inSAP/ ERP systems environment/ MRP



+ 3-5 years in transportation or logistics industry



+ Work experience (including number of years))



+ Must have strong computer skills including MS Office (Word & Excel)



+ Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment.



+ Must have good customer service, relationship building and verbal and written communication skills.



+ Proven track record of troubleshooting problems, investigating customer complaints and leading change toward making improvements.



+ Requires the ability to solve urgent and chronic problems, both individually and as part of cross-functional teams. Needs to effectively lead and develop a team and communicate expectations at all levels of the organization.







**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Associates degree or equivalent work experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Warehouse industry



+ 5+ years in transportation or logistics industry



+ Knowledge of storage, record keeping, customs, and inventory methods



+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing a plus
