Lead Service Engineer LM 2500 and LM 6000



Orlando, Cincinnati, Charlotte or Houston











Position Overview



Lead Service Engineer Responsibilities:



*In depth knowledge of LM 2500 and LM 6000 core engine service engineering, repair and overhaul at the most detailed part level at all stages of engine maintenance











*Ensures LM 2500 and LM 6000 core engine product integrity and build support throughout the lifecycle maintenance of the machine.



*Primary interface to regional field service and operational service desk to resolve operational and build issues for LM 2500 and LM 6000 gas turbine core machines.











*Well versed generally in LM 2500 and LM 6000 core engine design practices for each module and established detailed repair limits. Able to troubleshoot highly technically challenging repair scopes; including rotors, turbine and compressor gas path parts and combustion parts.



*Supports and consults on package level operational issues and solutions affecting the gas turbine core.



*Implementation of advanced repair methodologies and technologies in repair strategy; responsible for setting global requirements in product and process qualifications on a part and process specific basis



*Review and approve supplier technical dimensions for supplied parts in terms of adherence to form, fit and function



*Repair Methodologies and Specifications for LM 2500 and LM 6000 gas turbine components and systems



*Leads root cause analysis investigations, issue resolution, implementation and validation.



*Supports customer order engineering; customer, site and engine specific configuration analysis in support of customer bids



*Benchmarking technical issues, advising resultant repair / replacement strategies for the installed base and implementing the agreed strategies.



*Executes engineering service and repair technical strategy on aero derivative frames, including LM 2500 and LM 6000



















Requirements



*Demonstrated experience of in depth knowledge of LM 2500 and LM 6000 core engine service engineering, repair and overhaul at the most detailed part level at all stages of engine maintenance. Ensuring service product integrity, build support, and acting as an Interface to regional field service personnel & the repair supply base.



*Deep understanding of repair methodologies and specifications for LM 2500 and LM 6000 gas turbine components and systems



*History of successfully implementing product and process qualifications on a part and process specific basis



*Demonstrated ability to conduct customer negotiations and lead detailed customer technical discussions



*Demonstrated ability to review and approve supplier technical dimensions for sourced parts in adherence to form, fit and function in the framework of a frozen process



*Experience with package level operational issues and solutions affecting the gas turbine core.



*History in leading root cause analysis investigations



*Extensive Industry experience with aero derivative engine parts and part number configurations.



*Experience in developing and tracking parts applicability and ordering this in a logic based matrix or relation based search engine



*Demonstrated expert in leading complex Root Cause Analysis Investigations to successful completion



*Experience in driving Customer Order Engineering; Customer, Site and Engine Specific Configuration Analyses



*Experience with LM core engine Technical Issues and advisory notifications



*History supporting Customer Order Engineering; Customer, Site and Engine Specific Configuration Analysis in Support of Customer Bids



*Experience in benchmarking OOEM Technical Issues, advising Resultant Repair / Replacement Strategies for the Installed base and implementing agreed strategies.



*Experience with implementing Engineering Service and Repair Technical Strategy on Aero derivative frames



*>15 years direct applicable experience



*Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline, mechanical / aeronautical preferred



*Gas turbine or aero-derivative training











*Ability to travel up to 30%
