**Role Value Proposition:**







The VMO (vendor management office) within MetLifes GTO (Global Technology Organization) is responsible for assuring that our supplier/partners are delivering the maximum value and innovation to MetLife as committed in our contractual agreements. The Software vendor management consultant will report to the AVP of category management and work in tandem with the director of the software category within VMO.







**Key Responsibilities:**







+ For assigned vendor relationships, understand all vendor contract deliverables and service level commitments; establish vendor management plan for each.



+ Establish vendor relationships through which oversight and performance review meetings will take place.



+ Establish stakeholder relationships within the GTO organization based on demonstrated expertise within the software category. Through contract and license analysis, identify opportunities to reduce cost and optimize spending



+ Operate the vendor management system including the assessment of vendor performance and adherence to contractual deliverables. Review with vendor and stakeholders per vendor management plan. Perform follow up and corrective action tracking.



+ Participate in the strategic sourcing process as a trusted advisor to the procurement organization and the business owners.



+ Support the director of the software category as required.







**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**







Required:







+ Extensive knowledge of the software business and experience working with software companies



+ Demonstrated expertise in procurement sourcing, vendor management or asset management within the IT function



+ 5+ years of experience managing software suppliers in a vendor management, procurement or IT function Demonstrated experience in working with software contracts, license agreements, asset utilization and optimization, vendor deliverables, SLA management and vendor performance management



+ Excellence and demonstrated experience in interpersonal communications and intercompany relationship management







Preferred:







+ Bachelors degree in business or related field



+ Excellent presentation skills



+ Direct experience with large software vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle.



+ Excellent negotiation skill



+ Experience in managing ELAs, SLAs and deliverables with software firms
