**Job Description:**

The Siemens Government Technologies Internship Program enables college students to explore stimulating career possibilities in the government contracting environment. As an intern of Siemens Government Technologies, you will be given individual and group assignments that are designed toprovide you with experience in a corporate environment and develop your business acumen.

_Objective: The Safety Internship will be an active role within the Safety organization. The intern will experience the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) aspects of the business with regard to project planning and execution on Federal contracts._

_Specific responsibilities_ :

Develop, edit, and maintain EHS documents to help promote and enforce safe practices.

Learn and understand EHS concepts and principles, in part by preparing for and assisting in critical EHS actions during project execution such as Lock-Out / Tag-Out coordination and mobile crane lifts.

Assist Project Managers and Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHO) with development and administration of Accident Prevention Plans.

Accompany Safety Officers to project sites.

Engage in toolbox talks with subcontractors.

Assist Safety Officer with audits, inspections, permitting, and Activity Hazard Analysis.

Assist in administering the incident report process if applicable.


+ Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred

+ Rising Junior or above

+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others on projects and assignments to achieve optimal results.

+ Ability to quickly learn the SGT business and understand the value proposition to SGT

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs.

+ Creativity in problem solving and alternative solutions.

+ Proven ability to present information in both 1 on 1 and large group settings.

+ Strong communication skills

+ Ability to meet deadlines and schedules

+ This position will be based in Reston, VA or Arlington, VA

+ Ability to travel with Safety Managers to conduct site walks at project sites
