**Industrial Automation Sales Support Specialist - Southeastern U.S.**







**Position can be located in several locations through the Southeastern U.S.**







**Position Overview**







Customer-focused, field-oriented Automation Sales Support Specialists are driven to:







+ Coordinate and execute regional and channel partner marketing programs focusing on the Factory Automation portfolio.



+ Promote ("get others to sell") primary solutions and products by delivering marketing programs / campaigns to the field, joint planning with regional sales and channel partners, identifying / exploiting market opportunities specific to the assigned region, and increasing mindshare in the region in order to grow the number of new leads and opportunities.



+ Educate ("transfer knowledge") sales and external partners (Distributors, Solution Partners) by presenting / demonstrating product features and benefits, instructing on key relevant application topics, and increasing sales effectiveness through the use of available sales tools and programs.



+ Consult ("technical advice") on application of products with sales, partners and customers by challenging norms which can be improved upon by utilizing Siemens technology, recommending optimal solutions to complex requirements, coordinating BU resources during customer crisis or complex bid, and combining a strategic approach with technical depth to ensure solutions are viable long-term.



+ Ensure high level of accuracy and completeness of opportunity pipeline tracking / reporting and maintain BU resource alignment with field activities.



+ The Automation Sales Support Specialist reports into the Business Development organization, and reports directly to the Regional Market Developer in the region.The BD organization is part of the Factory Automation Business Unit / Digital Factory Division.







**Responsibilities**







The Automation Sales Support Specialist is responsible for multiple tasks in this job function including consultation for Siemens Factory Automation technical solutions, customer presentations, value-add commercial support, and training for sales and distribution partners. The Automation Sales Support Specialist will also provide critical market intelligence back to the Business Unit. Some of the key roles and responsibilities include:







+ Serves as a Business Developer for a specific geography aligned with the Area Sales Manager.



+ Coordinates with the Area Sales Manager to drive local Factory Automation (FA) sales strategy and growth.



+ Supports sales account managers and channel partners at identified target accounts to drive customer conversions.



+ Provides detailed technical knowledge for the FA product portfolio offering comprehensive assistance in key sales situations.



+ Keeps abreast of current market trends including competitors activities.



+ Follows current standards for sales pipeline reporting and tracking.



+ Communicates with channel partners to gain understanding of the sales pipeline and areas for potential business development.



+ Collaborates in a team environment with other FA field resources (Application Engineers and Promoters) to convert larger opportunities in the market.







**Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience**







The person must have excellent relationship building and communication skills. They must have a deep understanding of factory automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Industrial Computers, Fieldbus Networks, and Industrial Software), and a superb ability to present them in either small or large group settings. The person must be task-oriented with exceptional time management skills. The candidate must be a team player, but also have the ability to manage a team. The person must be self-motivated and proactive to keep a focus on the regional marketing plan. The skills, experience and education required are:







+ Education BS/BA Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience



+ Must have had a minimum of 5 years experience and knowledge of PLC, HMI and networking architectures



+ 8-10 years experience in the Automation Industry



+ Knowledge of the Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi automation markets and its customers



+ Experience with supporting Sales & Distribution



+ Travel required for this position is 60%
