Helpdesk Technician – PC Customer Support.

Homes Media Solutions seeks an experienced Helpdesk Technician to work full-time (35 hours with benefits) in our San Diego office. The candidate will be responsible for assisting office and field office employees for Helpdesk support. As a member of the Helpdesk team, this position will also be responsible for monitoring helpdesk tickets for escalation, follow-up, and closure, as well as providing reports to management.

Duties of this position include:

-Basic desktop level repair of PC’s
-Supporting users in the operation of their PC’s
-Assisting with software rollouts
-Staging PC’s, and troubleshooting phone, printing, email and network connectivity problems.

This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills as well as the ability to communicate with users of varied experience level. Must be able to work well with others, accept and follow instructions, and have good organizational skills.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

-Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically
-Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
-Research questions using available information resources
-Advise user on appropriate action
-Follow standard help desk procedures
-Administer VOIP phone system
-Administer help desk software
-Redirect problems to appropriate resource Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
-Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
-Prepare activity reports
-Stay current with system information, changes and updates
-Diagnose PC problems and install replacement components including mother boards, hard drives, video cards and network cards
-Demonstrate excellent customer service & communication skills

Education and Experience:

-Experience with current Windows operating systems, configuration with the ability to train users in their operation
-Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Group Policies, LAN architecture, VOIP phones, Print Servers and Printers, scanners and fax machines Desktop/Laptop hardware and software troubleshooting
-Data recovery
-Experience with Google Apps for Business, MS Office
-Symantec EndPoint A+, Network + with Microsoft Certifications preferred
-Knowledge and experience of customer service best practices
-Related experience and training
