**Job Description:**







Work Location: On Customer Site at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset NY







In collaboration with a strategic academic customer partner, the Health Economist will be a highly flexible, collaborative and innovative individual, committed to provide the best possible service to our customer and other stakeholders. The incumbent will undertake a range of health economist analysis activities that will advance clinical effectiveness & outcomes based research project objectives for Healthineers.







This role has primary the following responsibilities:







Conducts a range of health economics outcomes analysis and modeling in conjunction with an outcomes-based research project with a strategic academic partner.



Collaborates and works closely with research scientists and key stakeholders to provide analytical and programming support on outcomes research to demonstrate the value of healthcare products.



Utilizing a comprehensive understanding of clinical workflow, evaluates & proposes pathways of clinical effectiveness and increased quality of life outcomes.



Conducts efficient data management and statistical analysis, implements advanced statistical methodologies according to protocols, and ensures quality control conducted on all analyses.



Develops proposals to impact spending and cost of care models for providers. Develops practical strategies and tactics to secure optimal reimbursement.



Implement and manage activities required to achieve health economics and reimbursement strategic objectives (e.g., preparation of economic and reimbursement dossiers for payer negotiations, new code applications, customer billing guides)



Contributes to best practices for the team as it relates to economic evaluations, model development and validation, data organization and programming standards.



Identify key health economic needs for Siemens Healthineers products & solutions, collaborate with outcomes research colleagues & Siemens Healthineers Healthcare Policy team to develop strategies & action plans for growth.



Work with new product development teams to ensure health economics and reimbursement needs are incorporated into product development plans and timelines; ensure all necessary new product development deliverables are completed on time and on budget.



Build relationships in key markets with government, physician, hospital and third-party payer decision makers.







Requirements & Capabilities







Minimum 5-7 years in reimbursement, health economics and/or outcomes research, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in the medical device or pharmaceutical area



Master degree or higher (e.g., MS, MPH, MBA, PhD, DrPH, JG) or equivalent. Formal training in health economics, public health, health services research, policy analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration or related discipline preferred.



Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and global healthcare systems including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies related to the device industry, and technology assessment preferred.



Strong communications skills and experience developing interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders



Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with minimal supervision



Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and develop customer/partner strategies.



Knowledge of Healthineers solution & product landscape preferred.
