The CT Automation and Control Global Technical Field (AUC GTF) is seeking a highly motivated Master orPhD students available for 3 to 12 months internships in the area of design optimization and data analytics. The successful candidate will work with the Product Modeling and Simulation Research Group (PSM RG) to develop solutions to the real-world problems. You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment. You will be encouraged to think out-of-the-box, innovate and find solutions to real-life problems. Our team has a strong publication record in leading journals and conferences.







**Responsibilities**







+ Develop prototypes for design evaluation and optimization using state-of-the-art methods, including artificial intelligence and data analytics.



+ Help advance the state-of-the-art in the field, including generating patents and publications in top journals and conferences.



+ Fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of design exploration techniques.







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ A MS or PhD student in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline for research.



+ Hands-on coding skills and ability to quickly prototype in C++ and Python.



+ Prior experience in CAD, CAE, multi-disciplinary optimization, AI, machine learning.



+ Experience with at least one machine learning tool, such as Matlab, Scikit, Theano, etc.



+ Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills in English is required.



+ Show passion for technologies with a can-do attitude.



+ Drive and motivation for career development and open to taking on challenges.



+ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English are required



+ The successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
