The CT Automation and Control Technical Field (AUC TF) is seeking a highly motivatedPhD student available for 3 to 6 month internship in the area of advanced geometry processing and solid modeling. The project will involve analysis of state-of-art in academia and industry, and design of novel practical techniques to address challenging problems in geometry processing and solid modeling. The project will include development of software prototypes to demonstrate novel techniques, and documentation of results through high quality technical reports suitable for publications and patent applications. Our Princeton facility is recognized for providing a stimulating environment for highly talented and self-motivated students. You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment. You will be encouraged to think out-of-the-box, innovate and find solutions to real-life problems. **Responsibilities**







+ Contribute to research projects that develop geometry processing algorithms and solid modeling techniques.



+ Apply developed techniques to real-world problems.



+ Fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of geometry processing and solid modeling techniques.



+ Help advance the state-of-the-art in the field, including generating patents and publications in top journals and conferences.







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Current PhD student in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline for research.



+ Show passion for technologies with a can-do attitude.Outstanding collaboration, interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills in English is required.



+ Experience with parallel programming on GPU preferred.



+ Solid theoretical knowledge of geometry representations and solid modeling techniques in design.



+ Familiarity with CAD software systems (NX) and modeling kernels (Parasolid).



+ Hands-on coding skills and ability to quickly prototype in C++.



+ Drive and motivation for career development and open to taking on challenges.



+ Previous graduate research or internship experience preferred.



+ Team player who can also be independent, prioritize work and thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment.



+ Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
