**Role Value Proposition:**

This position is responsible primarily for Enterprise Expense Reporting (GAAP and STAT). They interact directly with Financial Management leaders, answering questions and providing information accurately; and uses sound judgement to make effective decisions. Exhibits and is recognized for a high level of financial or business expertise gained through a series of professional assignments characterized by the assumption of progressively increasing responsibility and ongoing career development. Such expertise may be concentrated in a specific technical area or span multiple areas across Finance.

The position requires a broad understanding of GAAP, Statutory and SEC expense reporting requirements, experience in analyzing, understanding and explaining financial performance. Position requires ability to deal with period end closing processes and procedures, complex accounting transactions, and to understand expenses within the many legal entities comprising the enterprise, and an understanding of the underlying systems and reporting tools supporting Finance

**Key Responsibilities:**

The key responsibilities include Total Company Enterprise Expense Reporting for GAAP and Statutory along with Cash Flow and Loss Recognition Testing. These key reports support the Companys ongoing operations and SEC & insurance statutory requirements. The position requires a broad understanding of GAAP, SEC and Statutory reporting requirements, the interpretation of results of complex consolidation practices and their financial statement presentation, an understanding of the many legal entities comprising the enterprise and period-ending close processes and procedures. The principal accountabilities of the position are as follows:

+ Prepare financial reports for Total Company GAAP and Statutory Expense Reporting by downloading information from single or multiple sources; compile databases and formulate spreadsheets; interpret trends, analyze results and explain to both Business and Finance Management.

+ Partner with Functional Teams and other operational areas to review data for accuracy, while also gaining an understanding of underlying drivers of expense results and communicating to management.

+ May be responsible to lead or facilitate Enterprise Expense Reporting Meetings, as needed.

+ Documents Enterprise Reporting processes, procedures and metrics. Identify, implement or strengthen internal controls in existing/new processes.

+ Understands business plans and their relationship to financial arena.

+ Leverage emerging technologies to automate reporting functions.

+ Maintain a sound internal control environment in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) surrounding expense reporting.

+ Conduct/Coordinate research and/or participate in special studies, model future short and long term financial results.

+ Ensures effective communication and all parties to consulting relationships.

+ May manage more complex financial analysis assignments or projects.

+ Acts independently, in concert with short and long-term business strategy and goals.

+ Management review primarily focused on end results. Errors may cause substantial delay and expense.

+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**

+ 7+ years of experience in the Financial Accounting and Reporting roles, with in-depth knowledge of expense accounting, reporting and analysis.

+ BA/BS Accounting or Finance, CPA/MBA is preferred. Broad understanding of GAAP, Statutory and SEC expense reporting requirements

+ Very strong analytical skills and ability to provide interpretation and meaning to period to period financial changes and trends.

+ Very strong problem solving, communication, organizational and information technology skills.

+ Ability to handle multiple complex tasks under very aggressive timelines.

+ Proactive work style

+ Effective decision-making skills, sound judgement and ability to work independently.

+ Maintains high level of expertise in one or more financial or business discipline. Typically recognized beyond the work unit as a subject matter expert.
