**Job Description:**

Siemens Field Technology Services (FTS) has 50 field service engineers that provide vibration diagnostics, controls/auxiliaries, and metrology/alignment services to Siemens Power Generation customers across North America and internationally.

This co-op position is an opportunity to learn about FTS and receive training specific to some of our services. In addition, you will perform back-office functions in support of the FTS team. You will also be provided with web based and classroom based training to help familiarize you with the overall power generation industry. This position required that individuals take one semester off of school (Spring, Summer, or Fall), and come work full-time during that semester for FTS.

Upon successful completion of this co-op, you would be recommended for acceptance into the Siemens Engineer in Training (EIT) Program following UCF graduation with assignment specifically to FTS. The Siemens EIT program is one year in duration consisting of ~33% classroom training and ~67% on the job training (OJT). In this case, the OJT periods will be directed by FTS. Following EIT program graduation, the individual would become a FTS field service engineer.


The objectives of this co-op are:

Develop familiarization with the power generation industry and Siemens Field Service.

Develop an understanding of FTS services and how the group supports both internal and external customers.

Receive technical training specific to some FTS services (classroom, hands on mock-ups, on the job) and develop proficiency to perform associated tasks independently.

Develop firsthand experience of life as a field service engineer and determine career interest (potentially ~25% travel).

Learn to interface with, access and input data to various software and database systems.

Produce PowerPoint presentation documents to support department.

Perform test equipment inventory, maintenance, calibration and shipment

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

Junior Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Student

Minimum GPA: 2.8

Prior experience is not required

Ability to travel (potentially ~25% travel)

Competency using Microsoft Office software and experience with other software tools and systems

Ability to commit to 40 hours/week

Candidate must be able to take a semester off of school
