Experienced UI Designer

We’re looking for a creative, organized and passionate individual to join the ForRent.com Product Development team to help us dream up - and bring to life - user-friendly websites and applications.  As Experienced UI (User Interface) Designer, you will work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, Software Engineers and A/B Test Developers to design our leading network of apartment rental websites.

As Experienced UI Designer, You Will:

  • Design website and app elements that optimize user interaction and experience
  • Influence the creative direction of ForRent.com, our network of sites, and our B2B/B2C tools, mobile apps and SAAS products
  • Craft engaging experiences to help renters find their next apartment effortlessly and generate qualified renter leads for advertising properties


    Responsibilities:

    • Build wireframes and high-fidelity mockups for responsive websites and apps
    • Create UI prototypes
    • Establish UI style guides to help maintain quality and consistency across digital products
    • Work with Product team to define user flows and collaborate on end-to-end experiences
    • Present drafts and final designs to Product team and stakeholders
    • Maintain an organized backlog of tasks and projects
    • Perform ongoing research to stay up to date on latest design trends and changes in the industry (both design and multi-family)


      Required Qualifications:

      • 2+ years’ previous professional experience in UI, UX, Web Design or related position
      • Proven experience with responsive UI design with strong portfolio of sample projects
      • Mastery of design tools such as Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Sketch
      • Knowledgeable in wireframing tools, storyboards, and user flows
      • In-depth understanding of UI; an understanding latest design and technology trends and their role in a commercial environment
      • Experience working with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap and Material Design
      • Artistic eye for design, user interaction, functionality, accessibility and readability
      • Able to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
      • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
      • Able to work independently and as an active member of a team
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


        Bonus Qualifications:

        • Experience working with prototyping software such as Invision
        • Experience developing style guides
        • Solid understanding and experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
        • Working knowledge of Agile development processes and JIRA platform
        • ILS (Internet Listing Service) or e-commerce experience
        • Multifamily Housing industry knowledge
