**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

The ES Applications Engineer II executes and manages medium size, medium-complex projects forcustomers.


+ Uses specific engineering tools that span across engineering disciplines to facilitate project execution.

+ Interfaces with customer engineers and managers to provide technical guidance in the application of design techniques and system procedures related to functional engineering.

+ Solves customer issues in the field of functional engineering.

+ Cogently communicates software problems to product development.

+ Assists other engineers in the usage of application programs on multiple software products and hardware platforms.

+ Provides business and technical feedback to business development and project management teams.

+ Works with general supervision on medium complex projects with latitude for independent judgment and discretion.

+ Moderate skills with high level of proficiency.

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

+ MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2-4 years of experience in simulation and testing of control systems for automotive vehicles or industrial machines.

+ **Experience in the following areas:**

+ Developing and implementing simulation based controller analysis, design and testing.

+ Demonstrable Expertise in control algorithm and software modeling and testing for machines using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Amesim and modeling packages.

+ Some exposure to automotive design tools and processes that enable and support Model Based Engineering activities.

+ Demonstrated problem solving skills in a dynamic team environment.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Experience in in Real Time test data collection and analysis of applications is desired.

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

+ Experience with Autonomous systems control, Big Data, Data Analytics and Machine Learning will be a plus.
