**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

Are you ready to provide support to the Supplier Operations Group within Consumables Engineering to manage quality issues, productivity improvements and product / supplier changes for a company that manufactures critical products for the healthcare diagnostics industry?

This position will provide technical support to the Supplier Operations Group within Consumables Engineering, utilizing strong troubleshooting and interpersonal skills to work with suppliers and internal customers resolving quality issues, implementing productivity improvement projects and helping to manage product and supplier changes within a regulated environment. The position requires good interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment while balancing multiple priorities. Working with cross-functional teams to support productivity improvement project work and the ability to work effectively in quality document management systems is essential.


The position interfaces with suppliers and internal customers for troubleshooting, material quality investigations, and project improvement activities. This position also performs analytical testing activities according to written procedures using a variety of equipment and instrumentation. The ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot this complex equipment is required. The incumbent prepares written procedures, performs calculations and discusses results with supervision. The position often works independently or with minimal supervision on projects and routine testing procedures including defining tasks, setting priorities and determining resources & materials needed for the testing process. Interfaces with scientists, engineers and line management supervision, and makes decisions requiring complex judgment or evaluation. The role involves the testing, analysis and documentation of design change projects, supplier qualifications, and material qualifications.

Other activities include:

+ Assist engineers in experiments and testing of materials and equipment.

+ May provide training and technical assistance to others.

+ Keeping abreast of current quality documentation standards and training.

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

This position requires a 2 year Associates degree in a technical area with minimum of 8 years of experience in related industry. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PPT, Access) is required.

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

Knowledge in the following technical areas is preferred for this position:

+ Experience with plastic molded parts and packaging materials.

+ Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and problem solving methodologies such as 5S, TPM, 3P, and A3 is a plus.
