**Position Overview**

Siemens Building Technologies is currently searching for an Engineering Specialist to support our Service Security group in the San Diego, CA area. Reporting to the BT Operations Manager, the Engineering Specialist manages and executes multiple, smaller projects from pre-booking to customer acceptance. He or she supervises, directs, and motivates the project team during planning, estimating, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, turnover, and warranty of assigned projects.


(1) Provides engineering and design, technical/installation, and project management for projects in assigned portfolio.

(2) Manages all financial aspects of assigned projects, including invoicing, forecasting, change order proposals, etc.

(3) Attends pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope.

(4) Analyzes available plans, specifications, and customer contract to determine system requirements

(5) Selects products, sizes, types, and location placement to ensure products meet customer requirements

(6) Troubleshoots possible issues including identifying and debugging software, electrical installation, or other problems

(7) Provides on-site assistance with or performs the programming, start-up, checkout, and commissioning for assigned projects

(8) Participates in job site final walk-through and service team turnover for all assigned projects.

(9) Acts as a technical resource to existing customers and field employees as needed

(10) May coordinate scopes of work with subcontractors as needed

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

(1) High school diploma or state-recognized GED equivalent is required

(2) Five (5) years experience in the installation and maintenance of commercial security systems (access control, video monitoring, etc.)

(3) Excellent verbal and written communication skills

(4) Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

(5) Proficient in CCure 9000, Exacqvision, Genetec, Lenel, or other security systems is preferred.

(6) Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.

(7) Qualified applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

(8) Individual must possess a valid Driver's License in good standing.

(9) Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.
