**Managing Consultant**

**_Position Overview_**

As a result of rapid growth in our consulting business, we are recruiting a senior level hire to take on a management role in Siemens Energy Business Advisory (EBA). This is a client facing position, reporting directly to the Head of EBA. The Managing Consultant will be responsible for delivering and managing on-going client engagements, while also contributing to new order intake and business development, for US power utilities, end users, and other market participants. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing consulting staff, and assisting with their growth and development.

**_Position Responsibilities_**

Provide a range of energy market and management consulting services to power/energy clients for all operating and market facing operations for generation, transmission and distribution assets and systems across the US.

Grow the business by identifying and closing new sales opportunities.

Manage consulting staff, and assist with their growth and development.

Develop staffing plans for short, mid and long term risk projects.

Create project budgets and margins, and manage engagements within these parameters.

Lead and manage project teams.

Ensure that staffing resources are deployed appropriately, and that quality control systems and practices are implemented.

Provide input to the evolution of offerings to keep them best in class as well as the development and introduction of new consulting products.

Contribute to the business development and sales process, including through identification and pursuit of new leads from both new and existing clients.

Exercise thought leadership to guide the research and development of emerging issues and solutions impacting the power and energy industry. Publish thought leadership pieces.

**_Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience_**

10+ years of consulting experience in the power/energy industry, in areas such as energy/power markets, risk management, utility transformation, utility planning and forecasting.

Track record selling $2M+ consulting sales into the US market per year.

Detailed knowledge of electric power, natural gas, environmental markets, generation, transmission, distribution and energy demand.

Ability to provide strong technical leadership / oversight for a wide range of economic and strategic analyses in the energy field.

Strong expertise in US energy/power market analysis and a detailed understanding of the analytical tools / software used in the industry.

Strong consulting skills, including excellent written, oral, analytical, and presentation skills required.

Strong quantitative background, by education and / or professional experience.

Track record of successful project management, for energy/power industry clients.

MBA/Masters or PhD in Business, Economics or Engineering/Technical Discipline preferred.

Experience with Matlab and/or SQL coding and applications a plus.

Knowledge of power market software, e.g. AURORA, PROMOD, PLEXOS, etc. also a plus.

Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork, expresses ideas in a clear and concise manner, both in written and oral communications.

Identifies issues and problems, secures relevant information, considers alternative courses of action and makes good business decisions.

Sees change in the business or work environment, understands implications and adjusts priorities as needed on short notice.

Has the ability to travel.
