**Job Description:**


The successful individual will work within a small, high-tech medical imaging R&D center with approximately 25 engineers who develop Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) products for the industrys leading medical device manufacturer.


1. **Engineering Technician** (70% of responsibilities)

Responsible for roughly 5 prototype build/test products

Build electro-mechanical subassemblies and machinery for complex x-ray medical imaging products

Able to troubleshoot semi-complex electromechanical irregularities.

Participate in testing; and some design activities such as cable assembly design and wire harnessing, coupled with the responsibility of materials management from a receiving, inspecting, shipping and inventory management function.

2. **Materials Management/Shipping & Receiving** (15% of responsibilities)

Management of inventory from a receiving, inspecting, shipping and inventory standpoint.

Oversees all physical inventories of the warehouse and/or supply yard

Maintains inventory records by adding or deleting supplies as they are shipped or received

Operates a personal computer to access, enter, and correct information

Interacts with Suppliers/Vendors utilizing exceptional customer service skills primarily by phone or occasionally in person.

May provide advice regarding supplies or property; including price and availability to other departments within the organization

May prepare damage claims for supervisor's review and signature

May coordinate disposal of surplus property and manage records retention.

Receives and unloads freight, both manually and/or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks

Inspects all materials received for damages goods, verifies quantity/quality of all orders received

Validates items received and ensures all products received correspond to original purchase orders

Wraps, packages and ships supplies

Delivers and ships supplies to and from work or storage areas

Tags and issues all supplies

Stocks shelves and rotates inventory

May receive, store and ship flammable, explosive or caustic/hazardous materials

May assemble and move furniture along with maintaining equipment and vehicles

3. **Purchasing** (15% of responsibilities)

Supports staff and/or vendors (e.g. ordering and purchasing procedures, required documentation, etc.)

Evaluates order documentation (e.g. requisitions, pricing, bid documents, etc.)

Maintains purchasing information, files and records (e.g. purchase orders, vender files, etc.)

Monitors purchase orders and warehouse inventories (e.g. deliveries, invoicing, min-max reorder levels, etc.) for the purpose of identifying inventory discrepancies, completing purchasing processes in accordance within require time frames and resolving issues that may delay receipt of requested materials, products and equipment

Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions

Performs a variety of duties in the purchasing of supplies (e.g. processing purchase orders, obtaining pricing information, expediting invoicing and deliveries, etc.)

Processes purchasing-related information (e.g. incoming purchase requisitions & purchase orders)

Researches suppliers including new products and sources of supply

Responds to inquiries of vendors and staff for the purpose of resolving purchasing issues

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.


Operation of power and/or hand tools; greet supply/delivery individuals, answer phones, and provide

information to vendors; bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 60 pounds; stand and

walk throughout an 8 hour shift; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a

safe working environment.


Technical school, Associate Engineer, or equivalent training.

**Qualifications and Experience:**

A minimum of 5+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experience required, 10+ preferred

Highly proficient electronics technician/engineer able to work within a lean environment and fast pace

Familiarity with drawing in 2D CAD

Reading electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems and board level electronics

Essential troubleshooting tools (o-scopes, meters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers)

Ability to read/write/execute electrical system verification test requirements

Handling, storing, and shipping of materials or supplies

Operating material handling equipment

Reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness

Excellent customer service skills and professionalism

Knowledge of using Excel spreadsheets/Microsoft suites/Computer skills
