**Job Location:** Cary, NC

**Role Value Proposition:**

The Director Projects/Programs will direct a team of Project Managers responsible for the implementation of domestic and/or global projects. Obtains the required resources to support approved projects. Ensures the scope and budget for all projects supports the business objectives. Provide guidance on processes and procedures. Ensure the team has access to required training. Update the senior leadership team on the progress of all critical projects. Define and manage the teams performance objectives. Develops and implements project\program level guidance.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Full responsibility for the entire portfolio supporting global and domestic infrastructure programs and projects

+ Provide direction, control, management and oversight in following areas:

+ Scope definition, alignment, management and change control

+ Risk identification and Mitigation plans

+ Resource management linked to schedule, cost, and availability

+ Financial forecasting and management reporting

+ Communication control and oversight

+ Quality management (Stage Gate Reviews)

+ Proactive risk/issue/assumption/decision management

+ Analysis of program and project data to produce management information and identify and deliver continual improvement

+ Ensures integration of projects and adjusts projects scope, timing and budget as needed based on the needs of the business

+ Partners with senior leadership of the business and IT communities global and domestic to prioritize projects to achieve the goals of the Enterprise

+ Responsible for team metrics (ex: resource allocation, training, etc.).

+ Improves team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation, ensure efficiency and boost morale. Full line management responsibilities for a team of direct reports.

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**

+ 12+ years of work experience within IT, including experience and extensive knowledge of project management concepts and practices such as Scope, Communication, Financial and Risk Management practices, as well as Project Lifecycle methodologies

+ 5+ years of management experience with full people management responsibilities

+ 5 years of experience communicating and presenting to Senior Management

+ 4 + years managing projects some of which have been global, large scope and highly visible projects.

+ MS Office; intermediate to advanced skills with Word, Excel, Power Point and Access with excellent oral and written communication skills

**Preferred Experience:**

+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline

+ PMP certification

+ Knowledge of Infrastructure technology and methodologies (ITIL, etc.)

+ Understanding of management and HR policies and practices and able to foster working relationships with the team and client departments

+ Possesses strong leadership and negotiation skills

+ Extensive knowledge of project management concepts and practices such as Scope, Communication, Financial and Risk Management practices, as well as Project Lifecycle methodologies

+ Demonstrated Leader Behaviors: Proactive, can do attitude; Ability to influence without authority; Solutions-oriented; Able to drive teams towards decisions; Results-oriented; quality focused
