**Job Description:**


Siemens Industry is looking or Director of Logistics for their Energy Management Division. This person is responsible for USA Regional and Country, Serving Energy Management division and six EM Business Units including: LP, HP, MS, TR, TS, DG . This person will provide overall leadership, vision and strategic direction for the Siemens Energy Management RC US Logistics organization.

**Basic Functions**

- Work in conjunction with Energy Management LOG global HQ, EM global and regional business units and Siemens SCM corporate functions, to deliver concept design, development and deployment of leading logistics solutions for project logistics (non-standard), product/transportation logistics (standard) and contract logistics, including warehousing and packaging, incl. respective support processes for the EM division and its operating units in the USA.

- Cultivate and Lead US logistics team with focused performance improvement through optimizing organizational structure, enhancing and streamlining policies/regulations and implementing lean logistics techniques as general management practice.

- Create operating management framework for the conceptual design, development and implementation of logistics solutions and operations (incl. core / non-core evaluation) that insure a safe, environmentally responsible working environment in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations (incl. respective approval requirements) and Siemens policies under the given responsibility..

- Work with all EM management and US logistics team members to develop strategies and tactics including logistics activity oversight, performance monitoring and measurement , cost containment and controls, that provide customer satisfaction and attainment of defined business objectives of EM and its operating units.

- Develop, adopt and drive activities to further digitalize and automatize Supply Chain/ Logistics processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the organization and according the collaboration with material suppliers and logistics service providers.

- Cultivate and drive **leadership and team member accountability** for overall Energy Management Division Logistics results.

- Represent Siemens Energy Management US in all planning, development and implementation of logistics and related compliance activities to global and NAM regional Siemens organization entities.

- Ensure adequate logistical resources with proper training to achieve operational excellence across all Division, Business Units, key logistics functional activities and operating locations in support of the broad range of businesses of Energy Management division.

**Essential Duties**

Relationship Management

- Build and develop strong and effective working relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to Siemens Energy Management, including NAM Region SCM management team, other regional Division logistics management teams, Key central functional regional leaders, such as Finance, Procurement, Shared Services, Legal, IT and Human Resources, key customers and suppliers.

-Represent Siemens Energy Management with national and local supply chain and logistics leadership communities,

-Cultivate effective Partnerships with Advanced Supply Chain Educational institutions as sources for new logistics ideas and qualified employees

**Strategy Development**

- Design and deliver innovative logistics and supply chain strategies and solutions in support of business, financial and workforce objectives.

Team Leadership and Management Development

- Develop, manage and lead a team of Logistics/Supply Chain professionals with specific focus on role clarity, business requirements expectations, performance coaching and productivity /service improvements. -

- Emphasis on continuous value to EM customers and businesses within the region and globally.

Process Management

- Monitor and improve logistics and supply chain processes through ongoing optimization efforts including LEAN and Six Sigma techniques, information technology enhancements, leading material handling methods, and competitive marketplace benchmarking with feedback.

- Communication and Metrics

- Create and communicate critical performance expectations and indicators to all key stakeholders with focus on data accuracy, transparency, and issue identification/resolution.

Cost Management and Budget planning

- Manage the cost center budget and drive budget planning process in alignment with all relevant business partners.

- Set cost targets aligned with local management, including NAM Region SCM management team, other regional divisional and business unit management teams, key central, functional and regional leaders, such as Finance and Procurement.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Education:

1. Minimum of 15 years broad based logistics and supply chain experience with at least 5 years leading a professional team in an multi-unit supply chain operating environment known for excellence, innovation and global complexity.

2. Prior experience in the industrial, manufacturing, or engineering services industries.

3. Significant expertise in process management, technology deployment, and metrics development including LEAN and Six Sigma formal leadership training.

Accomplished coach and leader of high performing team of logistics and supply chain professionals.

4. Proven ability to operate and communicate within complex, multi-cultural and global matrix organizations.

5. Solid change management skills and experience in leading and managing teams comprised of highly focused analytical staff.

6. Ability to clearly articulate complex supply chain and logistics solutions and related value propositions to key executives (COO, CFO, CEO) from global customer base and leadership of EM division and its business units.

7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English) required.

8. Undergraduate degree required in related fields of Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Engineering, with advanced degree, and/or Senior Supply Chain management program certification completion preferred.
