**Role Value Proposition:**

Reporting directly to the Short-Term Disability (STD), Family Medical Leave (FML) and Total Absence Management (TAM) Vice President within MetLifes Global Tech and Operations US Claim division, the Director - Claims Operations has overall responsibility for a segment of group STD and FML claim operations that presently resides in Aurora IL, and Tampa, FL. The position is responsible for translating MetLifes US Claims vision and strategy by effectively leading each operational team.

**Key Responsibilities:**

High level responsibilities include; oversight of the day to day operational teams, inventory tracking, key performance indicators, customer centricity metrics, forecasting, trending and data analytics, internal and external regulatory compliance, expense management, quality assurance, performance management/development, internal/external partner collaboration, as well as tactical alignment to US Claims strategic initiatives.

Lead and provide tactical/strategic direction to three-four operation managers. These managers are responsible for individual teams (approx. 40-50 direct reports).

Effectively partner with internal business leaders and partners to ensure alignment with broader organizational initiatives and strategies.

In addition to the Key Responsibilities the role will:

+ Oversee and provide direction to the STD/FML Claim teams to include management team and staff.

+ Provide exceptional member service by anticipating, resolving and administering benefits in accordance with customer plan provisions.

+ Ensure that staffing, service, production, and quality assurance KPIs are tracked, trended, reported and achieved.

+ Identify, champion and translate all Customer Centricity related initiatives.

+ Overall accountability for yearly expense budgets. This includes specific business acumen regarding planning, forecasting, and expense management protocols.

+ Establish and maintain effective partnerships with all internal/external partners to ensure alignment with broader organizational strategies.

+ Coach and mentor staff regarding their individual, team, developmental and career aspirations. Translate and cascade vision and direction throughout entire team in accordance with the MetLife Core Values.

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**


+ High School diploma

+ 10 years relevant business experience


+ Bachelor degree
