**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

Siemens Industry is looking for a Digital Manufacturing Engineer for our Grand Prairie, TX factory located in the heart of the DFW Metroplex. Our growing facility has over 650 employees that produce high-quality, engineered and make-to-order power distribution equipment. The Digital Manufacturing Engineer designs, develops, maintains and improves manufacturing systems at the software, mechanical and electrical levels. The position's focus is on the enablement (sensing and acquisition), visualization and use of data (analytics) around manufacturing systems to drive improvement in productivity, product quality, and transparency throughout the supply. This person will lead critical projects to achieve our digital factory vision.

- Support the evaluation and management of software applications and functionality available across manufacturing systems.

- Implement tools, such as Digital Work Instructions, Computer Aided Process Planning, Operator Displays, Performance/Status Dashboards, and other connected worker support tools.

- Support the instrumentation, control, connectivity, and analytic solutions around manufacturing equipment and operational assets.

- Design, plan and improve manufacturing operations, processes, and systems.

- Oversee efforts and initiatives to reduce production errors and improve product quality across manufacturing systems.

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

- B.S. or greater in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar disciplines

- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or Supply Chain.

- Experience with computer programming (Java, C, C++, Python, etc) and database management.

- Proficiency in data collection and analysis.

- Experience with SAP or similar MRP system

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

- Experience with manufacturing execution systems.

- Experience simulating manufacturing systems and processes

- Familiarity with Industrial Internet of Things (iIOT) and Industry 4.0.

- Experience with machine tools and/or automation.

- Involvement with data modeling and data design (SQL, NoSQL, etc.)

- LEAN or 6 Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt.
