Recognized internationally for its pioneering work in bone-marrow transplantation, the Center’s four scientific divisions collaborate to form a unique environment for conducting basic and applied science. The Hutchinson Center, in collaboration with its clinical and research partners, the University of Washington and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Pacific Northwest. Join us and make a difference. Major Duties This is a Temporary Position - On Call/On Demand - This posting is ongoing as needed. The Seattle HIV Vaccine Trials Unit is seeking a committed, energetic person to join our community outreach team. The Recruiter’s primary responsibilities will be to recruit participants for our groundbreaking HIV vaccine studies. Recruitment will occur in local venues that may include street locations, community events, community based organizations, public clinics as well as bars, dance clubs, and sex clubs. Recruitment efforts will target diverse populations according to the demands of the current studies. Those diverse populations may include lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. In addition to diverse sexual orientations, research may include various ethnic communities i.e., African American and Latino. Work will include some administrative duties. Qualifications • Must be at least 21 years old • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write English • Candidates must be wiling to learn a variety of skills related to recruiting, counseling and providing HIV/STD health education, and details about our research studies. • A working knowledge of gay community venues is preferred and previous experience working with men who have sex with men (MSM) • Previous experience recruiting for clinical trials. • Flexible schedule will include weekday, nights and weekends on an “as needed” basis. • Sensitivity to youth, racial, ethnic, cultural, and sexual diversity is required. Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule $15.00 per hour/5 to 15 hours weekly or as needed - this is a Temporary - Position Flexible schedule will include weekday, nights and weekends on an “as needed” basis.
