**Background:**







Siemens Healthineers is embracing Digitalization by devising organizational structures, tools, methods and processes for handling ERP data that contributes to the production of high quality information. Data Governance provides the means to maintain accurate master data in our highly regulated business environment of in vitro diagnostics. This empowers enhanced decision making and reduces operational risk. Data Stewardship is integral to Data Governance and plays a vital role in protecting a key asset: the Master Data that supports our company to plan and execute operations globally, process business transactions efficiently, and obtain valuable insights to sustain new business models and accelerate M&A activities.







The Data Stewardship Program Office Lead (DSPOL) is a cultural change agent and advocate for data to be treated like any other core business asset. They love to learn and ask questions and have the persuasive ability to bring others along for the journey. They want to ensure wereap the benefits of process integration from SAP. They are also passionate about data literacy and the reskilling of employees for Digitalization. **Reporting lines and location:**







The DSPOL will report to the Senior Director of Business Process Engineering (Data Governor) for the Laboratory Diagnostics Business Area of Siemens Healthineers. They will work in a virtual team called the Data Governance Services Group. Success in this position requires the right mix of business acumen and organization, integrated process thinking, product lifecycle knowledge and above all else people skills and an open mind. The position will preferably be based at our headquarter offices in Tarrytown, New York but consideration will also be given to well qualified internal applicants local to the US East Coast.







**Job Specific Requirements** **:**







**Strategy & Leadership**







+ Builds upon the Data Stewardship vision and owns the implementation roadmap.



+ Facilitates Key Opinion Leader stakeholder discussions about the use and value of Master Data and transactional data elements used in our physical and increasingly digital supply chains.



+ Maintains relationships with core business functions to ensure awareness of Data Governance services as well as the benefits to them of engaging in the systems perspective to avoid the typical silo issues.



+ Recruits Data Stewards from all in vitro diagnostic business lines to represent their functional areas, product lines and sites of operations. Responsible to ensure the Data Steward organization chart remains populated at all times to ensure bench strength of decision-making.



+ Supports the Data Governor as ultimate authority to resolve master data related escalations and any disputes on master data usage across all in vitro diagnostics sites, functions and lines of business.



+ Aligns with counterpart Stewards from the in vivo (imaging) business lines regarding similar initiatives.







**Program Office Administration**







+ Tracks relevant multi-year execution milestones to realize the Data Stewardship roadmap.



+ Sets up the technological foundations for Business Data Steward community success. (Teamspace etc)



+ Establishes and improves on-boarding and off-boarding processes for Data Stewards.



+ Produces Data Stewardship activity reports and maintains program affectivity scorecards.



+ Installs a consistent and effective meeting structure with a measurable action item resolution process.



+ Employs LEAN methodologies. Root Cause Analysis and business process engineering tools.



+ Initiates workflow optimization and data cleansing efforts according to Steward-set priorities.



+ Coordinates the Business Data Stewards to maintain a comprehensive Business Data Glossary (Enterprise Data Dictionary), to describe the definitions, ownership, business rules, and other characteristics such as systems and interfaces governing critical data elements.



+ Ensures that the time of our (part time) functional Data Stewards is properly respected.







**Promotion & Education**







+ Articulates and communicates the reasons why data is the fuel of scalable business processes.



+ Able to convincingly tell the data story in context. Maintains real life case studies and other explanatory aids for use in presentations tailored for different levels of business audiences.



+ Shares developing best practices and integrates approaches that work elsewhere.



+ Develops actions plans to address digital knowledge deficits by leveraging external educational opportunities and best practices. Makes these available for use at Siemens.



+ Finds appropriate ways to recognize and provide opportunities to those employees who drive business results through effective use of data and systems.

**Data Skills**







+ SAP Business Super Users should apply especially those with in depth working knowledge of the SAP Material Master and its integration with logistics modules.



+ A deep understanding of why insufficient data definition and training gaps cause process breakdowns.



+ Has been involved with SAP implementation or BI projects ideally in lead business side positions.



+ Demonstrates a profound ability to distill business process-driven data requirements and recommend solutions thereon leveraging a diverse network of internal expert advisors.



+ This role does not require exceptional IT / Data manipulation skills. However having them will not hurt.







**Industry experience / Career**







+ Preference for candidates who already work or have extensive previous experience in medical diagnostics companies or similarly FDA regulated environments.



+ Career path evidences strong passion for end-to-end business processes.



+ Proven record of successful collaboration with IT and being the voice of the business.







**Preferred Educational Requirements:**







The ideal candidate should come with at least some of the below qualifications:







+ Bachelors degree in a related discipline such as Business, Engineering or Computer Science.



+ At least 10 years of relevant work experience may be considered for those without degrees.



+ Data Governance, Stewardship and Quality courses completion certificates from Dataversity.



+ ICCP Qualifications such as (1) Business Data Management Professional (BDMP), (2) Data Governance & Stewardship Professional (DGSP) or (3) Certified Data Professional (CDP-DM)



+ Project Management: CAPM, PMP or similar.



+ Functional certifications from SAP or accredited online training vendors.







This is a job which requires dedication to life-long learning as well as research into the latest trends in master data management which typically involves attending relevant industry conferences and webinars.







**Requirements for Business Travel and general working hours:**







+ Must be generally available during regular US East Coast business hours.



+ Approximately 10 30% travel requirement. Travel will be primarily East Coast USA but also some West Coast travel. Will also involve some international travel typically to Germany, the UK or Ireland. Travel schedule might bring more travel in some months and zero in other months.



+ Partially remote working possibilities will be extended to the right individual.
