**Position Overview**

As a senior member of the Engineering Consulting Services team at https://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/en/products/lms/engineering/index.shtml , you will be leading a team developing methods and solutions to realize efficiency improvements and performance enhancements using Model-Based Control Design for Siemens PLM customers in automotive and industrial machinery verticals. As the team manager, you will bring your control design expertise to understand different customer needs and guide the team to architect and implement innovative Mechatronic solutions. **Responsibilities**







This is a senior lead position in the area of control systems at https://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/en/products/lms/engineering/controls/index.shtml and embedded software. The Manager for an Engineering Consulting Services group manages and guides a multi-disciplinary consulting team engaged in model-based control systems engineering for automotive and industrial machinery customers. The position involves managing personnel activities of staff while participating as a key member of project teams. The services manager interfaces with customer engineers and internal managers for project planning and delivery. In addition, the services manager interfaces with high-level customer engineers and managers to provide technical guidance and technology transfer in the application of model-based control design techniques and system procedures related to functional engineering. The team manager is expected to technically guide the team members on projects while providing business and technical feedback to business development and project management teams to meet the top line and bottom line growth targets.







+ Provide engineering consulting and problem solving for automotive and industrial machinery customers usingmodel-based control systems engineering.



+ Architect Digital Twin solutions by understanding customer requirements for the design, analysis and testing of complex mechatronic systems.



+ Lead and mentor the team to develop and implement control algorithm models to satisfy the functional requirements related to domain specific attributes for energy consumption, operator comfort and safety, NVH and operational performance efficiency.



+ Develop new advanced control techniques such as Machine Learning, Kalman Filtering and Model-Predictive Control.



+ Interact directly with the customers to present insights into the design and discuss solutions with customers and other stakeholders.



+ Prepare project plans, plan and forecast resource utilization in addition to providing technical guidance to junior engineers.



+ Provide business and technical feedback to business development and project management teams.







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 7-10 years of experience related to simulation and testing of control systems for automotive vehicles or industrial machines of which 3-5 years should have been spent managing engineering teams. Experience in the following areas:







+ Setting and monitoring goals, providing technical and business guidance to team members



+ Demonstrable Expertise in control algorithm and software modeling and testing for machines using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Amesim and automatic code generators.



+ Demonstrable experience in automotive design tools and processes that enable and support Model Based Design and Engineering activities.



+ Demonstrable experience in working with cross-functional teams and delivering outstanding results



+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



+ Amount of travel for the position expected to not exceed 10%







**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Experience with Autonomous systems, Big Data, Data Analytics and Machine Learning is a plus.



+ Knowledge and experience in automotive design tools and processes that enable and support model based engineering activities.



+ Participating in HR review process and providing feedback to team members



+ Mastery of control algorithm modeling, verification & validation and code generation with MathWorks tools is a plus.
