**Job Description:**







This position is a Contract Manager professional supporting the implementation of Siemens Power & Gas new unit and service contracts. The Contract Manager will analyze customer and supplier terms and conditions and suggest innovative ways to deal with contract requirements, negotiations, rights, obligations, and risk exposures to managers and engineers responsible for the contracts.







This includes:



o Write, review, analyze, modify and negotiate contractual documents to achieve acceptable risk levels.



o Write, review, analyze, modify and negotiate claims, settlement agreements, changes to existing agreements for service and equipment, and other contractual terms and conditions.



o Summarize and prepare risk summaries for review and approval by management.







Education:







o Bachelors degree required, advanced education or Degree in Engineering or Law is a plus.







Required Skills and Competencies:



o 8 years of commercial contract experience.



o Extensive experience drafting and negotiating contractual documents, and implementing contracts.



o Detailed oriented with the ability to analyze contracts to identify and evaluate risks relative to different scopes of work.



o Strong negotiation skills, detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects at the same time.



o Strong customer orientation.



o Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities.



o Able to communicate clearly and concisely with a range of associates as well as senior executives.



o Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.



o The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.



o Excellent communication, writing, meeting facilitation skills.



o Ability to travel domestic and international estimated at 15%.



o Strong understanding of diversity and intercultural differences (experience of operating in diverse and international environments).



o Power/Energy industry experience desired.







Job Family Responsibilities:







Ensures all bids/contracts comply with limits of authority directive. Guide review of specifications issued by domestic and international purchasers; prepare customized commercial sections of bid reports. Recommend deviations from limits of authority directive and prepare letters for appropriate management approvals. Prepare first drafts of performance warranties with input from engineering. Guide the preparation and negotiation of contracts and provisions of service/bid contracts, consortium agreements, settlement agreements, and master agreements; suggest values of liquidated damages; provide consultation, advice, and/or training for lower level contract analysts.

Performs advanced areas of work for the Contract Management Professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.
