**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

**This co-op position is in Digital Health Services Product Innovation team, and is an excellent opportunity to learn the cutting edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology that enables machines to understand medical images as well as human natural languages.**

In this role, you will learn how to create data for machine learning, how to train AI algorithms for applications in the field of radiology working on both medical imaging and natural language processing. You will learn exciting new technologies including deep learning, as well as how to carry out experiments and to evaluate results of new algorithms. You are also expected to participate in seminars where state-of-the-art papers regarding machine learning are introduced.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and global environment and have a strong ability to foster partnerships across many different organizations. The person filling this position must be hands-on, proactive, self-motivated, and committed. The intern will report to the advising scientist but will be expected to work with and take direction from other scientists.


Data creation and curation for machine learning

Development of scripts for process automation and test infrastructure

Experiments using various AI algorithms and software packages

Reading papers in the related literature

Evaluation of the experimental results

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Working knowledge of Python and/or C+ Candidate must be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited university

Love of learning and the ability to learn new topics quickly

Exhibits strong problem solving skills

Self-directed and actively takes initiative

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Experience developing web services or against web services

Good communication skills
