**Job Description:**







Position Overview



Siemens Industry is looking for a buyer/planner for our Pomona, CA manufacturing facility. Our growing facility has one hundred employees that produce high-quality, make-to-order power distribution equipment for the western United States market. This position is responsible for ensuring on-time availability of material for the production process and managing inventory levels to meet financial goals. Additionally, this position will drive continuous improvement in our supply chain and support planning activities with production.

Responsibilities



- Manages MRP via SAP and placed purchase orders with internal and external vendors.



- Reviews SAP master data including minimum order quantities, safety stocks, lead times, and provide forecasting as needed, etc.



- Evaluates the current supply chain and improves it by working with our corporate resources.



- Analyzes large amount of data to develop sourcing strategies by component and supplier.



- Responsible for meeting the inventory targets, delivery reliability and cost saving initiatives for the site.



- Resolves goods receipt and invoice receipt discrepancies.



- Works closely with production, planning, engineering and customer service to fulfill the customer requirements.







Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience



- 3-5 years of purchasing experience with MRP system in manufacturing environment.



- BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree



- SAP knowledge.



- Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills.







Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience



- APICS Certification is a plus



- Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus



- Microsoft Access is a plus



- Excel Macros is a plus
