**Job Description:**

Position Overview:

Siemens Industry is looking for a Buyer/Planner for their Grand Prairie, TX facility. The candidate will ensure adequate material availability through use of sales forecasts, ABC/XYZ analysis, IRLs.

develop and implement master schedule to establish sequence & lead time to meet customer delivery.In additon they will track, monitor and expedite part shortages. The candidate will report to the Factory Focus Manager and have not direct reports.


Participate in maintenance of basic reports

Analyzes supplier capability & delivery reliability

Participate in make/buy studies

Participate in the effectiveness evaluation of current material control standards

Support planning and coordination of new product introduction or product changes

Supplier relationship management

Product life cycle management

Review and maintain product forecast

Analyze inventory turns and trends for optimum utilization

Maintain master data critical to operations

Participate in make/buy studies

Participate in the effectiveness evaluation of current material control standards

Support planning and coordination of new product introduction or product changes

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

1. BS/BA or advanced degree required

2. Minimum 5 - 8 years experience,

3. Planning/scheduling

4. Manufacturing resources planning (MRP)

5. Lean operating principles

6. Strong computer skills, especially Excel

7. Understanding of bills of materials and labor routings

8. Ability to work with & apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and practical solutions

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

1, SAP Production Planning/Purchasing Module

2. Tactical Purchasing

3. APICS/CPIM Certification
