Hours: Full-time during the summer; Part-time during the school year

This position is within our DevOps team. The DevOps team focuses on Siemens multidisciplinary design software and is part of Simulation & Test Solutions within Siemens PLM. This position will focus on developing business intelligence and data analysis tools to aid in the development of metrics used to improve the development process at Siemens PLM Product Development. This position will ensure that new reporting services or enhancements to existing services are implemented globally. This includes evaluation of new tools, documentation and training. You will get the opportunity to:

Work with senior DevOps members to design, develop and maintain business intelligence Development services

Participate in gathering business intelligence system requirements with appropriate stakeholders and apply business intelligence design principles to address requirements

Respond to requests for user assistance with reporting interfaces and data interpretation as needed

Troubleshoot bugs and service failures. Work with appropriate DevOps and IT personnel to solve problems. Open help tickets with appropriate vendors as needed. Escalate issues to senior engineers as necessary

Work with internal customers to gather requirements and establish verification standards for reporting and data analysis. Internal customers include quality assurance, production and development personnel


Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a masters degree in Computer Science or Data Analysis

Proficient using Pentaho, Tableau, Oracle SAP or other BI platform

Proficient designing and implementing ETL jobs

Database design including familiarity with data warehouse schemas and operational data design

Experience using REST and SOAP API's, JSON and XML

SQL and general relational database proficiency

Experience using Git, Mercurial or SVN

Comfortable with design as well as implementation

Excellent teamwork skills and ability to assist other team members in problem-solving
