**Job Description:**

Siemens Industry, Inc. is currently searching for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead Network business development activities for our Building Automation group for the Philadelphia Area mainly focusing on, but not limited to Eastern, Pa, Southern, NJ and, Northern, DE. The primary responsibilities will include marketing, business planning, and organization development for designing, installing, and maintaining convergent network technologies and low voltage network solutions for the digitalization of building systems. This roles responsibilities include working closely with Siemens Corporate resources, consulting engineers, construction managers, owners, and the local sales team. The goal is to differentiate Siemens in the market place and to establish Siemens as the market expert and leader in intelligent building network technologies. Focus would be on existing and new customers with converged and conventional network requirements that have the need for big data mining and management as well as large design consultants working with these types of customers. This individual would develop business and marketing plans in conjunction with resources in those fields, both internal and external. Responsibilities include working with owners, IT consultants, consulting engineers, and contractors on conceptual design, specification development, convergent networks, budgeting, etc. while coordinating with the sales resources associated with the given targeted projects.


Utilizes basic sales techniques to sell products / services / solutions to established or prospective customers. Achieves or exceeds assigned individual sales goals. Initiates / establishes / maintains customer and business partner contact, providing basic technical product application assistance as required. Calls on prospective / established customers, providing technical and administrative product information and/or demonstrations.

Assists in the preparation of product information required by customers. Performs training assignments as directed in order to apply engineering knowledge and principles. Continually strives to become more familiar with Siemens and critical 3 rd party products, technology, personnel, culture, policies, practices and regulations.

Provide expert application support to IT and Design Consultants and Owners to improve customer and branch productivity and reduce their risk.

Provide the roadmap for the branch to enter the world of digitalization, specifically for higher level network skills and knowledge and social media savvy.

Allow Siemens Industry, Inc. to increase its visibility and building automation and integration leadership position in the building service and construction communities. Develop business and marketing plan with corporate and local marketing and technical support. Develop and conduct seminars and lunch & learns to consulting/contracting firms to promote company products and solution sets. Neutralize or put competition at a disadvantage. Develop business opportunities and generate sales volume.

Supports local sales management with strategic planning and forecasting. Research, develop and maintain competitive information resources.

Maintains technical competence of companys products, applications and services. Represents Siemens with active participation in relevant industry associations, professional organizations, trade shows, and affiliated groups. Provides guidance to operations for the implementation of the network vision for each client. Assists in the development of a branch network team for the execution and service of these solutions. Follows through on sold projects to create outstanding customer value.

Partners with other information technology manufacturers and companies, combining best in breed to deliver the overall superior solution


Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience (High School Diploma or GED equivalent a minimum requirement)

Industry certification or requirements for RCDD, Cisco, Microsoft, Security +, Wireless Technologies, Fiber Optic, Cloud Computing, Big Data (IoT), SaaS, and Cat6 cabling

Five years or more experience in HVAC, controls or related industry

Knowledge of Siemens Industry products and solution sets desired

Ability to speak a strong IT dialect and have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must possess an outgoing personality, be able to present themselves and Siemens Industry, Inc. in a professional and positive way, be technically astute and work well in a team environment

Demonstrates a basic knowledge of professional principles and skills

Effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization

Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing, and must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan
