**Job Description:**







**Position Overview:**







Siemens DF FA OEM (Digital Factory, Factory Automation OEM group) is dedicated to the growth of Siemens automation, drives and motion control products by offering solutions for original equipment manufacturers and machinery builders in various industries. The OEM group of business developers provides solutions that include Siemens SIMATIC, SINAMICS, SIMOTICS and SIMOTION products packaged in solutions tailored for specific industries.







This position offers the opportunity to engage OEMs in the glass, ceramic, wood, stone and lightweight material industries with proven Siemens products and solutions that offer competitive advantages to the customer. The additional role of Machine Handling business developer will involve a wider range of industries and will require promoting Siemens material handlings solutions to machine builders. The candidate will be expected to possess experience and knowledge of at least one of these industries and a proven record of self-motivation and entrepreneurial talent. The candidate will be part of a team of several BDs each focusing on different industries. The position will report to the OEM business development manager.







**Building Material Business Development Responsibilities:**







This position requires strategic planning to foster market share growth.







Candidate must show experience with business plan creation, customer account responsibility and coordination with general sales force. Candidate must be able to handle multiple accounts and responsibilities across multiple industry segments. Some of the specific tasks are:







Develop 3-5 year business plan for Siemens solutions for the Building Material industries







Define specific sales simulation and growth measures, Align the actions and growth measures with Sales and Support team nationally and ensure successful implementation.







+ Possess a specific knowledge of the glass, stone, wood, ceramic and lightweight material industries anddemonstrate the knowledge of the different sub-segment machine types



+ Develop strategic business plans to support market share objectives; develop advanced and leading-edge programs for assigned vertical segment. This person will be the key stake holder in the commercial relationship to the respective vertical market clients



+ Convince customer of the superior value in Siemens solution and communicate to customer the benefits of Siemens products for their industrial needs



+ Coordinate business activities with Siemens colleagues in Germany to insure your messaging and solutions match those in the Siemens portfolio







**Machine Handling Business Development Responsibilities:**







Develop 3-5 year business plan for Siemens solutions for the Machine Handling industry







Define specific sales simulation and growth measures, Align the actions and growth measures with Sales and Support team nationally and ensure successful implementation.







Collaborate with other machine building vertical teams to identify potential and promote Siemens Machine handling solutions.







Develop and drive the strategy for targeting the conversion of Key Focus OEMs in machine handling branch







Use knowledge on Siemens products and applications in Machine handling to support OEMs with consultancy on high performance and best fit solutions, Align technical support for them through local and HQ application team, personally monitor key projects for assured success with OEMs of strategic importance







Develop case studies, application examples, success stories and collaborate with marketing team to deliver right message to Customers and Siemens Sales







Evaluate market potential in country for Machine Handling by using feedback from segment specific industry associations, revalidate the same with industry reports and external market survey results







Collect competition information from internal sources/ industry database and evaluate customer wise potential







Identify and participate at key industry trade shows. Use the available/new developed demo kits to conduct demonstration at customer sites, trade fairs and industry association meetings







Deliver effective talks at Industry forums, communicate with media on latest trends in the specific industry and technology







Closely coordinate business activities with Siemens Colleagues in Germany/HQ to ensure the messaging and solutions match those in the Siemens portfolio.







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:**







+ An understanding of end users in at least one of these industries; glass, wood, stone, ceramic or light weight material markets as well as key players in the machinery manufacturing community







+ Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.Qualified applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States







Bachelors Degree in electrical or electronics engineering or an equivalent degree







Have 6+ years of work experience in building materials industry or machine handling related fieldsof which 2-3 years should be in sales/business development/commissioning of the above mentioned industries







+ Possess a strong knowledge of motion control and industrial automation







**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:**







+ Have an existing network with major customers and demonstrated success with business development



+ Knowledge of general business functions, including: marketing, manufacturing, finance, product development, engineering and global business issues



+ A working knowledge of financial reporting functions including understanding of LoA process, project financial evaluation criteria (including gross margin, variable cost considerations, EBIT and EVA)



+ Experience working with customers on quotes, proposals and solutions development



+ Knowledge of Siemens products or competitors motion & automation products is a plus







Knowledge of Siemens Automation and motion control products portfolio, like SIMATIC, SIMOTION, SINAMICS, SIMOTICS and Profinet etc will be preferable







Good knowledge of applications, business drivers, trends and issues, in industries verticals like F&B, Packaging, Light weight assembly would be preferable







Strong skills in communication, change management and influencing without authority



Experience and strong skill sets in business development, marketing, strategy, business leadership, and technical skills







This position requires 40% - 50% travel
