**Summary of Responsibilities:**

This position will reside in the Group Program Management Office, a consolidated organization in Group Benefits Operations responsible for execution of the Group Benefits project portfolio. The Business Analyst II position has primary responsibility for:

+ Determine specific business requirements to address varied business needs and analyze design solutions against business needs.

+ Able to analyze business processes to identify areas of improvement.

+ Operate under general supervision to review, document, and develop business processes and requirements, working collaboratively with business stakeholders.

+ Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT to support technology needs, represent stakeholders interest in system modifications and design activities, and support the functional development, testing, and deployment of technology related activity.

+ Lead the effort to develop and implement new or revised processes for small to medium sized projects.

**Principal Responsibilities:**

+ This job entails the following responsibilities:

+ Participates in business analyst activities on projects that may include multiple phases and small to moderately sized project teams and complexity.

+ Perform gap analysis for a process impacted by the project, participate and provide feedback on end to end review of business requirements and process maps.

+ Report business analyst activities, reporting out on project status, including escalation of issues or risks. Lead business requirement or process mapping meetings.

+ Contribute to the development of, review and adhere to project timeline and schedule

+ Participates in traceability meetings

+ Considers User Experience concepts as process maps and business requirements are developed

+ Manage the overall business analyst relationship with IT partners and vendors for small to medium size and complexity projects

+ Reviewing and assessing Change Requests for work stream impact analysis (as needed)

+ Reviewing and approving Use Cases/FRD (as needed)

+ Collaborating and consulting with IT on design

+ Participate in prioritization sessions with work stream analysts to identify and provide recommendations on scope for project planning.

+ Performs other duties as assigned or required

+ This position will also require performing the following activities:

+ Documenting and facilitating approval of Business Requirements

+ Reviewing, documenting, and facilitating approval of Process Maps

+ Coordinate with IT on requirements tracking and traceability

+ Collaborate with IT on non-functional requirements

+ Own overall solution from inception to roll-out

+ Supporting Operational Readiness Activities

+ Support User Acceptance Testing


**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:**

+ For small to medium sized projects, demonstrates leadership ability

+ Highly organized

+ Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, with clear and concise precision communication

+ Ability to Process Map and perform end to end root cause analysis as needed for small to medium sized projects with small to medium complexity.

+ Ability to elicit and document business requirements for small to medium sized projects with small to medium complexity.

+ Ability to translate business problems into requirements or processes

+ Ability to communicate solutions clearly and effectively

+ Ability to comfortably and effectively communicate with management and project resources

+ Ability to identify gaps, risks, and constraints in the project resources, timeline, etc.

+ Understand IT documents: Architecture, Use Cases, FRDs, UAT scenarios, and their correlation to the requirements and processes

+ Ability to analyze information and determine what is important for the solution/project,

+ Good consulting skills, engaging business partners, drawing out information, business intelligence

+ Intermediate, working knowledge of business processes and workflows, connections between capabilities

+ Intermediate, working knowledge of system infrastructure, data flow, system transactions and functionality

+ Able to build relationships with partners

+ Data Analysis

+ Data Mapping

+ Moderate knowledge of User Experience concepts

+ Ability to trace business requirements to IT and Test documents

+ Discernment of when to escalate potential issues/concerns to prevent project interruption

+ Ability to prioritize work appropriately

+ Meeting facilitation, building consensus

+ Ability to hold partners accountable to drive toward a solution

+ High level knowledge of group insurance products

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Good negotiation skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally

**Required Qualifications** **:**

+ High School Diploma with equivalent business experience

**Preferred Qualifications** **:**

+ Thorough knowledge of supported business functions, processes, procedures, workflow, systems and transactions

+ 5 6 years of related work experience

+ Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience

+ Understanding of system design processes, methodologies and testing process

+ This position will require 0-10% travel and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams, partners and vendors virtually.

**Supervisory Responsibilities** : May act as a business analyst lead for small to medium size and complexity projects.
