Brand/Sales Manager

Position Responsibilities:

  • Become rapidly familiar with the entire RAE product line and be prepared to discuss product form, fit, function, interface often with distributors, large strategic OEM partners, traffic engineers and consultants on a technical level (understand industry terminology, applications and deployment).
  • Have a working knowledge of the signalized intersection traffic control electronics market, systems and components within the roadside traffic control cabinet.
  • Understand the various applications of traffic controllers, traffic cabinet safety monitoring devices and components. (Type 170, 2070, NEMA TS-1, TS-2, ITS and ATC cabinets).
  • Provide regular input into the company’s existing CRM system, (Customer Relationship Management), and properly document sales interactions, price quotations and customer service activities.
  • Maintain a database of all major sales expansion targets, domestically and internationally.
  • Provide “in-person” and webinar-based training seminars on the RAE product suite for OEM partners, distributors and end-customers (traffic management agencies and system integrators).
  • Provide product-specific sales training as needed at distributors’ locations.
  • Develop and maintain an enthusiastic network of “RAE Product Champions” throughout our global distribution network.
  • Attend and exhibit RAE at regional, national and international trade shows and conferences.
  • Ability to author and present technical papers at regional, national and international professional industry conferences, desired. (examples- IMSA, ITE, ITSA, ITS World Congress, TRB, TSA, IRF).
  • Support EDI/RAE Engineering Department and Product Management by conducting primary and secondary marketing research as needed and relay the voice of the customer.
  • Provide input into new product development and existing product enhancement.
  • Provide a high quality of sales and customer support through in-person, telephone, email and videoconference communications.
  • Provide market sales forecasts as requested by product line on an annual, semi-annual, and/or quarterly basis as needed.
  • Complete and multi-task several projects, meeting mutually agreed and achievable deadlines with a sense of urgency.
  • Be helpful at all times, having a positive and customer-oriented work attitude and ethic.

 

 






Position Requirements (Outside Sales):

  • Shall have a minimum of one (1) year of sales or customer support experience (internal or external) in the traffic control/management, high-tech/electronics, Information Technology or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) marketplace.
  • Ideal candidate should have some prior knowledge of either electronics or traffic engineering fundamentals, which is comprised of signalized intersection control theory, and the proper application of ITS technologies to solve real-world problems, which directly impact mobility, motorist and pedestrian safety.
  • Have a basic familiarity with the operation and use of Conflict Monitoring and/or vehicle detection devices, (inductive loops or aboveground), as applied to intersection traffic control or traffic data collection.
  • Experience in developing and managing domestic and international distributor networks desirable.
  • Ability to understand manufactured goods sales strategies and tactics to multiple competing distributors / resellers in the same geographic sales territory.
  • Prior formal public speaking / technical sales presentation and training experience desired.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills mandatory.
  • Superior organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Working knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
  • Prior use of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is desirable.
  • Superior people skills and ability to produce results in high operational tempo environment.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, and be action and results accountable.
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and/or internationally up to 50%, and an expected minimum of 25%. Ability to hold a U.S. passport and travel internationally as requested without restriction.
  • English fluency mandatory, and foreign language skills, Spanish or Arabic, at any level would be an asset.
  • A positive “can do” attitude with a high level of commitment to achieve quarterly and annual sales goals is required.
  • Ability to function easily in an innovative work environment with a high operational tempo.
  • Have a commitment to grow career responsibilities along with company revenues, and enhancement of our level of customer satisfaction in product form, fit, function, price, quality, service and support.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree in business or closely related subject is preferred.
  • Shall have a minimum of ten (10) years of sales-specific experience in the traffic control electronics or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) marketplace, preferably at the manufacturer or distributor level.
  • Sales and/or marketing management experience in the North American market desirable.
  • Ideal candidate should have experience in traffic engineering fundamentals and signalized intersection control theory, and the proper application of ITS technology to resolve real-world problems, which directly impact mobility, motorist and pedestrian safety.
  • Have a basic familiarity with the operation and use of Conflict Monitoring and/or Detection devices as applied to intersection traffic control or traffic data collection.
  • Experience in developing and managing domestic and international distributor networks desirable.
  • Ability to understand manufactured goods pricing strategies essential.
  • Prior formal sales presentation and training experience required.
